Nii Narku Dowuona managed to write a candid, objective and balanced essay Roland Agambire or Frafras or Upper Easters or northerners. If Akadu Mensema and the other, who both claim both a Ph.D and professorship in the language, will learn from Nii Narku, they may write effectively without the need to insult persons, ethnic groups, tribes and large sections of the population of Ghana.

Some of us realised the calibre of person Roland is when he self mockingly stated that he used to pick up coins dropped by inebriated pito drunks. He sees Ghanaians as very stupid people otherwise he would not have opened his mouth 360 degrees to utter such stupid talks. l felt very disappointed in him since then and never held him in any high esteemed for l realised this a crooked character trying to hid a dubious means of wealth making.
with the advent of this SADA issue, l knew my conviction about the man was accurate and l write now l wonder loud why this government wants to punish ordinary law abiding and hard working Ghanaians for its systemic failure and gross ineptitude in taking pragmatic business decision that ameliorate the year upon years plights of Ghanaians.
monies acquired by this firm's and individuals illegally should be collected back from them with interest and if possible jail terms for their cronies in government to serve as deterrent against future occurance.

For a journalist to confess that he wrote an article and possibly a series of others without ever seeing the subject of his writings, not even an interview, speaks volumes of the kind of hearsay journalism that goes on in Ghana. You have confessed. But I think you should go a step further and give back those awards. That would be more courageous. It is very much like a sportsman confessing to having taken illegal drugs. He is usually stripped of his wards. Apologies alone aren't enough. So what were the sources of that article in 2010? Radio? Market gossips? Don't blame spin doctors, you should have done a better job of checking all those outrageous claims without rushing to pipe them out.

Azaato, the man just told you he was misled just on one count - the issue about RLG manufacturing rather than assembling. And till date RLG claims to be manufacturing phones, which is a lie. He has now exposed it. He told you how he was misled, and there was nothing about gossip or any of the things u mentioned. Besides, I know this journalists and how hard he works to get it right. That is why he has won four GJA awards. He did not pick an award for the Roland Agambire article, so where is the point in calling for him to return his awards. Are you jealous of him. You should admire him. Some journalists get paid to write good things about people like Roland even though it is clear in the public's eye what they are. Are you not glad this one is not one of those. Besides, he admitted that he should have done a better job. So what is this holier than thou attitude of you repeating to him that he should have done a better job. Massa, we should admire the courage of this man for beating himself in public like this, instead of this unnecessary attack. Please.

Naa, this is someone who wrote a previous piece all full of praise and pointing out how Agambire is worthy of emulation, all that based on "desk" research, as it turns out. Given the scope of that article a proper journalist would have made a lot of effort to speak to the man himself and not just his representatives. Failing that he should have added a caveat like "Agambire didn't want to or couldn't be interviewed for this article", which is standard practice in journalism. Some of the things allegedly said by Agambire's associates could have been easily verified with a single trip to the so-called manufacturing centres of the mobile phones. He didn't. And you have concluded in very typical Ghanaian fashion: my response can only be attributed to jealousy even though you don't even know me, much less my profession. It isn't everyone who likes to boast about their achievement unnecessarily.I live that to others

Azaato, thanks for your comments. You have concluded very fast that I wrote based on DESK RESEARCH. You were not there, and I did not say that, so I did you draw that conclusion. Millicent was the one appointed to speak for the company at the time so I was stuck with her. My mistake was I did not make a trip to verify, which I admitted to before you even said it. You sound like you are a journalist yourself. And I thought you would rather appreciate that for my 15 years of journalism, this is the first time I am retracting and apologizing for one article. I can't force you to give me credit. But I can assure you, if you did what I have done, I would admired your courage for making use of the benefit of hind sight to make a correction. Unless you tell me you live in a perfect world, I don't see how an apology and retraction for one article means my entire 15 years of journalism in rubbish. You trade in probabilities that I may have done same with other articles - are you being fair to your own conscience by creating your own premise and proceeding on that. I am not asking for your praises, and I am not asking you not criticize that professional breach. But don't you realize the very things you are chastising me for are the very things I admitted to without your intervention, and I retracted and apologize without you asking me. Sir, what you are doing, I have already done to myself. So exactly is the reason you are repeating it?

Christine, are you serious. Komla Dumor was taken to court over his work at Joy FM, and the people who took him to court actually won their case and Multimedia was fined over GHC40,000. Nii Narku has not cause anybody money. Is it because Komla Dumor did not come out to apologize for his mistake, so you think he is perfect. Please, lots of journalists around the world make grave mistakes which lead to more serious consequences. Don't point fingers at a journalist who has been bold to admit to his mistake and retract. Strangely, Christine, people like you sometimes criticize journalists for exagerating issues. But how many journalists come out to admit to that. Today, you have a journalist admitting to his one time mistake and the best you could say is he is rumor monger, sycophant, disappointment to journalism and all the things you said. Did you ever hear Komla Dumor come out to admit to his mistake, even though a court fined Multimedia because of him? So laud Dumor, and insult Nii Dowuona. Thanks

Thanks. But I did not sit somewhere and write. I interviewed a designated Communications Director and anchored the story on it. My failure was, I did not go to see the so-called manufacturing process to confirm it was manufacturing or assembling. Again the NYEP was shrouded in secrecy at the time so I did not even know he was getting money from the state to do his projects. So I took it from the Comms Director she said it was the company's own money. But thanks
