You hit the nail right on the head. Well done Kofi. Komla Dumor, rest in perfect peace, you have done your best for your dear country. May the Good Lord console the bereaved family.

Some Ghanaians can be so envious of someone's success and that beats my mind. It's not Komla working at BBC but it's about he making use of the opportunities to rise to the top....world leaders sending condolences speaks of h ...

DK....you're right Komla was a success not bcos he worked at BBC but bcos he the spirit of excellence in him.

  • Moses 10 years ago

Everybody agrees Komala was excellent. The question is if his excellence deserves him to be given a state (national) funeral. Many people think the answer is no. Where does envy come in here? Should EVERY excellent Ghanaian w ...

Moses, you are 100% right. Yes he found the cure for cancer. Like mandela was in jail for 28 years. Like Ghandi and Mother Teresa gave all to the poor. You see my point. The average Ghanaian doesn't think that thoroughly.

  • GAbaa 10 years ago

Moses you are right on in demanding if he deserves a state burial. Ghanaians has done a lot outside its boundaries, you go to the world bank,IMF, UN AND YOU FIND THEM IN VERY HIGH POSITIONS THAT ALSO GLORIFIES THE NAME GHANA. ...

The one who thinks working for the whiteman's BBC should make one a national hero?

Or the one who thinks a state funeral (a whiteman's invention) is a very great idea?

  • Obaa 10 years ago

But who is paying for the state funeral ????

  • WIAFE SAMUEL MINTAH 10 years ago

Komla did a good job placing us on the world stage.but what has been done suffices.we can't afford state burials for every one who does such deeds.

  • CARDINAL 10 years ago

How did he place us on the world stage? Stop using cliches to justify this state funeral extortion. Komla was a great presenter but did nothing extraordinary to deserve a state burial.

  • mky 10 years ago

Oh yes, Cardinal, I wholeheartedly agree with your assertion...komla was a wonderful broadcaster, but folks should remember one thing....broadcast journalism is a glamorous subset of the profession. If you excel, people will ...

Is it a joke or what ? The guy was working for himself not on behalf of GHANA. So why state funeral ? Working for BBC or doing high profile interviews is no big deal.

  • NANCY 10 years ago

BBC IS JUST RADIO STATION IN GHANA, SO ARE PEOPLE SAYING EVERY RADIO PRESENTER SHOULD BE GIVEN A STATE BURIEL. GHANAFOC DEA MOBO ABUROKYIRE PAPA.
