Have somebody check your writing of you next time before you submit it. For Ghana's sake, do your best to improve your basic grammar. Nkrumah did not commit so much to education so that 57 years later we will have semi-literate people claiming to be journalists. He believed in excellence, turning Ghana into a first-class nation not the mediocre people in govt only good at thievery. Nkrumah wanted Ghanaians to be the best in the world, second to none, in all fields. Be inspired and work on your grammar!

The writer is talking about an extremely serious issue here and all you are worried about is his use of a language that isn't even of us.That is exactly what he is talking about, our assumption that the so called donor countries are in for our best interest, including the current breed of politicians.
I laugh at black people(though it alarms me) every time I hear one speak english to their child because I always wonder if they are aware of the fact that the people who control the region where that language is from are continuously working hard to make sure you don't stand a chance to make a considerable mark in life unless you suck up to them?
For the man with no self respect he will say,"oh so what, if you can't beat them join them".I can understand that because, in every society there are a couple of sheep who will fall for any condition.
However my question is,where are the REAL men of Ghana and Africa?Have their souls been battered to the extent that they are now bending over to be doggy styled to extinction?
The blood of those who died in search of our total freedom hangs over us till we all play our part.
Till then, keep correcting english grammar and watch our progress.

Kai Dabi, my fellow self aware and sentient Ghanaian brother, do not despair. Some of us in the diaspora have been away for a long time (in the West), but are now "back in town" - with a vengeance.
To defeat your enemy, you must understand how he thinks. As I said, we have been away for a long time - living amongst "the enemy", climbing the ranks and becoming quite successful in the "ivory towers" - so we know how he thinks.
Having said that, one must give credit where credit is due. From a (purely) Machiavellian point of view, there is a lot to learn (and truth be told - Admire) from the West's past and present complete dominance of Africa and its people. It is a textbook case of how to totally subjugate a people - WITH their consent.
Upon returning to Ghana, I was appalled by the utter lack of self identity (past and present), constant fawning over "Obroni's" and all things Western. As a colleague of mine said, the average Ghanaian has no idea of his roots, who he is, and how he got into the pitiable situation he finds himself in, on the global worldstage; instead, he dreams of becoming an American (methinks a few pictures of lynchings - complete with grinning white people under the lifeless body will put paid to that vision). The name Amadou Diallo should also serve as a warning.
The level of colonial mentality I have encountered is shocking - and this cuts across all sections of society.
However I digress. Ghana our beloved country (and most of Africa) is in far more trouble than even the author of this article realizes. The main way in which whiteness continues to exert itself in Africa is twofold:
1. Instead of working together to build our own markets and increasing intra African trade (which incidentally, the lowest percentage across all continents), we appear more interested in doing business with the EU (invariably contemptuously skewed against us) - rather than with fellow African countries - or even other countries in the Global South who have less contempt for us than the West.
2. Religion - this is the biggest hurdle, and where the most damage has been done. Africans eagerness to worship a white God of a religion which was used to justify the enslavement of our ancestors does lend some currency to the West's continued perception of Afrian's as at best "childlike or infantile" - and at worst "not very intelligent". Every other continent on this earth has a majority religion which is based on deitys which assumed to have taken the form of man - resembles the indigents. African's see no problem in prostrating themselves before the image of a white god and being subservient/servile to that image.
This is a VERY big problem. If you want to control a man - control his mind. Marcus Garvey called this challenge (that existed even back then) "selling the image of the black man to the black man". Until we start TRULY believing in ourselves (that includes taking a hard look at our concept of "god"), working together as one for the common good, we will follow be under the yoke of who controls our mind - "free your mind, and the rest will follow".
For some reason, Ghanaian/African history is no longer being taught in schools (at the lower levels) - is it any wonder that the children are confused about their identities and they all want to be like the images of the rubbish (Beyonce/Kanye West etc.) portrayed by the Western media on African soil?. Whose idea was it to remove Ghanaian history from schools?
Some of us in the diaspora are coming back, and we want our country back, we want African pride back - we will expect no quarter and give no quarter; we are militant in that regard. You are either with us, or against us. Those who are against us will be considered as the filthy scum whom for over five centuries, conspired together with the West to sell our ancestors to the white man; they will be treated with the ruthlessness and the contempt that they deserve.
I'll close with a refrain from Robert Nestor Marley: "Africa Unite!, cause the children want to come home".
The Ghana Empire shall rise again, Africa shall rise again!
