The NDC is essentially composed of three factions by default;pseudo NDC group,true NDC and the real NDC loyalists.The stark reality is that Jerry Rawlings absence allowed pretentious characters with capitalist ideas to systematically infiltrate and infect the party with corruption and self seeking ideas rather than the interest of the party.The party has been hijacked by sycophants and opportunities many of whom have strong ties with the NPP.Indeed they are business partners who drink and dine together.The last time a very bitter rich Alhaji business man bemoaned the fact that they as a group invested in the campaign of the current president with all contracts now being given to their NPP counterparts.He added that the NPP business community is best flourishing under this government ever than before.Some of us as i write were brutally and dubiously dismissed from a public institution on tribal grounds just because of perception of campaigning for the president and voicing out against corruption using a fellow northerner who was then the sector minister.That is why i disagree with those who feel the old NDC gurus are the best bet for the Mahama government.I believe Jerry Rawlings himself never knew he was sarrounded by corrupt sycophants and opportunist who never care about the ideals of the revolution.When i here some of them criticize the president on grounds of corruption and working with an inexperienced team, i laugh quietly within my heart because some of them would have done worse things.The reason why the party is slipping away from the grassroots into the hands of oligarchs is purely as a result of greedy traitors abandoning the principles and objectives of the revolution in the interest of money and mundane things.Capitalist criminals by persistently demonizing the founder have now succeeded in legalizing criminality and corruption.When i here the wealth and opulence being displayed by some young NDC ministers i shiver but admit we are victims of our own self.Many of these guys were no where when we as boys scout brigade with CDR/PDC offered voluntary services such as communal farming and sanitation work with pride and commitment.We have grown to appreciate the fact that material wealth is not anything particularly stolen from the poor suffering masses.In fact it becomes relevant and credible when it is through your own sweat. I know of so-called NDC gurus who talk big and live lavishly as MP's whiles constituents are dying from abject poverty and hunger.Anytime any sensitive and assertive youth talk against these injustice you are quickly stifled and brutally victimized by these wicked autocrats who are supposed to be MP's of a social democratic party like the NDC.Multitudes particularly in the north where some MP's are chronically holding onto the seat with the intention of dying on it as if it is a monarchy have been victims.Their popularity is a false one driven by a combination of corruption,poverty,ignorance and morbid fear of hapless constituents.Like it or not the PNDC era re-invigorated a sense of patriotism and nationalism in the common Ghanaian making the NDC appealing to the ordinary Ghanaian.That is why the NDC does so well in low socioeconomic communities such as the rural areas compared to the middle/high social class.The reality is that the NDC is now capitalist oriented with aggressive pursuit of wealth the order of the day.It will be interesting to see how the NDC will match the NPP in this in 2016 should they lose the grass root base already disenchanted because of excessive suffering created by the massive rot and corruption currently.Judging by what some of us are currently witnessing on the ground, victory for NPP in 2016 is obvious if the president does not institute measures to endear popular support for the party.The current National Executives of the party are partly to blame for the recent trend of events in their parochial interest.We here of constituency primaries and positions of MCE's/DCE's predetermined at headquarters even before election or nomination.The consequence is square pegs in round holes,arm-chair legislators/executives completely out of touch with the suffering masses.The root cause of this is factionalism with perceived Rawlings loyalists worse hit.The president in an exercise of re-orientation should identify with committed party loyalists not opportunist using the party to enrich themselves and distance himself from factionalism.It is mandatory he curtails the current state of corruption and opulence being displayed because it is an insult to the intelligence of all those who committed resources and energy to ensure NDC victory not the least the poor suffering masses who have trust in the NDC.The only solution is indeed reforms to ensure power for people and people for power.One thing is certain and that is, those opportunist who suddenly become very vocal enjoying all the power and fall outs from an NDC victory will as usual disappear into oblivion during the 2016 campaign.The president will also have to content with the huge burden of convincing the unconvinced suffering masses of corruption in his government responsible for their predicament.Just like a vulture waiting patiently to descend heavily on a carcass,the NPP will take full advantage of these lapses and not even the most loyal of party loyalist can help.Nevertheless,there is still enough time for these reforms at least in an unofficial capacity to turn the tide in favor of the president to inflict a second very painful defeat on the NPP.Otherwise expect an NPP victory in 2016 and rightly so.

Does the four year term in democracy has meaning at all?~How can someone still think NDC should win 2016 with their dismal record of embezzling more than $2.5b of public funds==GYEEDA, WOYOME, CP, SUBA, EMBRAER, WATERVILLE, ISOFOTON ETC. What sort of people are we that there is time to change and we dont want to change?
