If you are told that there is a posibility of a hurricane, do you not inform others and take precautionary measures? It is better to emphasize our concerns rather than wait till it is too late. If the budget is yet to be signed off, or it is not even the 20mil mentioned, it is better for those in authority to take into accounts our views before making a final decision. on the other hand, If we kept quiet and it was concluded that a 20mil budget has been signed off, what do we do then? It's the right thing to do but the problem here is, most of us Ghanaians don't even know what that $20mil entails so how do we scrutinize it? Comparing with what other nations have budgeted for the same tournament doesn't add up. Some Ghanaian players are making millions in their clubs as compared to most players from the USA who barely make $1 mil. If for instance our players are demanding $100K each just for appearance fee and we're taking 23 players, is that not $2.3mil right there? Include flight, accommodation, food, logistics, bonuses and you're nearing that $20 million. We've not even included officials and their per diem etc. So, what's the point trying to scrutinize the $20mil when you can't pin point how much has been allocated for what? This is my concern and the fact that most Ghanaians are fund of saying things they can't prove as if they were there when it happened. This makes me sick paaa my brother. An auntie of mine in Ghana, she doesn't read or write and she can't even remember the last time she stepped foot in Accra but can tell you things that happens in Osu castle as if she's an aid to the president. You should hear her say some of these things and you'll marvel. She can even describe the facial expression of the president in his office when a particular incident happened. Unfortunately, some stupid elderly folks around believe her so imagine to number of people she alone deceives.

Their first response is ALWAYS to deny things, and then return days, weeks, months or years later to confirm same.
We've, on uncountable occasions, drawn their attention to this old-era style, yet their stone-walling continues.
If the $20-million budget is wrong, just tell us the true amount, the breakdown and the narratives supporting the line items.
Sellas Tetteh was accused of corruption before the 2009 U-20 WC.
Some called for investigation, others opposed on the grounds that the games were too close to disturb his concentration.
After lifting the Cup, the idea was mooted.
Investigating someone does not mean the person has stolen anything.
It just means we want to assure integrity in the process.
Nyantakyi should have come out right away to prove the sceptics wrong.
Instead, he, through this author, is hiding, saying, "Don't talk about what you don't know. Wait till the President approves".
Why?
If you are honest with public funds, hide nothing.
Our players are not on a commercial venture in Brazil; they're on a patriotic mission, so it's wrong to compare their salaries with the American players'.
Their 100,000-dollar appearance-fee demand is predatory.
If the US is spending, 2m, why should we spend 20m?
If the latter amount is wrong, the FA must lay out the details before the budget goes up the chain of corruption (sorry, chain of command).
The best way to show your honesty is to lay bare the facts so as to shame your critics.
Numbers are not opinions.
Let's have those numbers, discuss them and then come up with something manageable and sensible to the over-stressed populace.

Kwesi Nyantakyi's GFA has always clothier themselves in Secrecy they lack transparency. Right after 2006 world cup when Kwesi Nyantakyi was asked to render account he said "He is not accountable to anyone" how many times have you heard Fifa name being troweling when question of accountability comes to place.
The whole President of Ghana late Mills POW's uncle went to Fifa seeking permission and still Nyantakyi stone wall it in the name of the world cup.
We are so blind about Kwesi Nyantakyi's GFA success story that calling accountability has become the bad word.
If Kwesi Nyantakyi's GFA has nothing to fear what is preventing them for put this to rest by publishing the whole 2014 world cup budget item by item for the public to see. In 2010 it came to light that they had money in the budget for journalist, Sports Minister took her driver, body guard and house helper to South Africa was that in the budget too.

The Money has opportunity costs. Moreover, other countries are budgeting much less. What do you mean by what is put in the Budget? How many Budgets for the world cup does a country have? To the best of my knowledge, it is just one. One expects that Ghana, With all Our problems, should not spend more than other countries when it comes to the world cup. A reasonable Budget should have about 95 percent going to the hotel, training facilities and bonuses of players. If we are sending 23 players to Brazil, the officials being sponsored should not exceed 10. If corporate sponsors choose to sponsor some more officials, so be it. Moreover we cannot have a Budget that exceeds the prize Money for aquarter/semi final berth (if that is Our realistic goal). This is just common sense. It is only corrupt and stupid minds which see nothing wrong With having a Budget of about 20 mill. dollars when a big percentage of the population is living in abject poverty. To compound the hopelessness of such a Budget is the possibilty that lots of countries would have Budgets of about half of that amount. When will stupidity end in Ghana? Wake up or else when the revolution arises some of you will be really, really miserable.

Rather it is going to increase our woes. Ghanaians by nature are corrupt to the bone and also practice chained-corruption hence all these dubious payments made to individuals are unable to be retrieved by the Government.
Mr. Nyantakyi is trying to silence the populace ahead of time before the budget is known to the public. In about 12-weeks from now, this tournament will kick off and how long are they to wait to come out with the budget when most countries had already settled on what they are going to spend on their teams and officials. Why Ghana waiting for the last hour? Your guess may be same as mine.
Mr. Nyantakyi should have done himself good to wait till the approval of the budget and made it public than his pompous comment. He can silence some but not all of us. E&OE.

Besides, if some countries have already presented theirs it doesn't mean Ghana should follow them. We all agree, the sooner the better but nobody has to be pressured. Also, the fact that people are talking about this proposal of $20 mil should tell you the GFA has already done his part. In Ghana, the sector minister has to review this proposal etc, before it's presented to whoever for approval.
