This is very true of the situation in Ghana, some of our districts, social welfare department undet the district assembly is even locked, last year when i went to Bimbilla to do my attachment as a social work student,i went to the district assembly and the office was locked when i asked about it i was told that the social worker there has passed away and because the is not well recognised they dont bother getting a new social worker,as im talking now, there is no one occupying the office.Government has to work hard to recognise the role of social workers in Ghana.
