Norvor, I much as I agree with your thesis in principle, most of your analogies are purely academic at best. Citing Ghadafi as an example alone means you are really not paying attention but merely doing the bidding of a much more greedy, selfish individuals.
Ghadafi, despite his humanly flaws took Libya from abject poverty to arguably the richest country on the continent, look at what is happening in libya today after unrealistic, mis-educated clowns like yourself bought into the idiocratic hype about 'western' democracy mumbo jumbo. Look at what will become of Libya as the country and its oil is now gone to the wolves.
Why fix what's not broken?? Hand the NDC to Kofi Portuphy as chairman?? Because he's great at sharing rice and oil to screw the women?? Kwabena Adjei might not be the "perfect" chairman, but we just wish a much more creative and innovative person will emerge to contest for the post.
Libyans lost sight of the fact that a country's leadership's main responsibility is to make the living standards of its people better, they were enjoying the best standard of living anywhere in the world, but they will rather be more "democratic" than having an enviable economy.
Similarly, political parties' main goal is to win elections and stay in power, the current NDC leadership has done just that, hand it over to Kofi Portuphy and his little dwarves with their crooked teeth and be ready to wallow in opposition for a long time.
Enjoy your staying in power whilst it lasts.
