no general who has capitulated for what ever reason should be given the chance to lead and that goes for nana . we shall tell all our sympathizers to abstain and boycott the next elections as we insist on a radical leader who will never surrender . if we are ready to fight to the death then our leaders should also recognize this value and not throw in the towel , we need no cowards or schemers . it takes courage and wisdom to lead and nana lacks both. we were soo disappointed he did not take the fight to the streets and again he disappoints us by not stepping aside . the stakes are now much higher than before as if he wins it confirms that last elections were rigged and should have continued the fight , if he looses if confirms he led the whole country on a jolly ride for his own selfish power hungry agenda . its a loose loose situation with no respect or dignity . nana has outmaneuvered himself into pepeni's hands and for the first time in 2 years pepeni is actually celebrating as any political analysis can see nana has shot in himself not only in one leg but both . he thinks he has a well marketed name and is well known so stands a better chance than any other candidate and because pepeni's govt due to northern tribalism is weak but he forgets the Akan are industrious hardworking people so with or without pepeni before the end of the year things will start getting better as the Akan have now reorganized their business away from the influence of politics . in short pepeni will start seeing successes and as usual will lie and attribute them to his govt . the business minded have rallied around and are doing things for the people despite the corruption in the system . the corrupt ones are now even becoming more reasonable and not asking for payment in advance so the business works out although the amounts they want have increased enormously . pepeni will succeed and will get a second mandate as he realizing his mistake is focusing more on the competent ones and more sustainable projects that help retain the wealth of the nation with the people . nana forgets the majority of the people now know only a Ghana with jj and the ndc so are conditioned to matter what if there are 2 evils to go for the evil they already know . this time pepeni will get 70% of the vote as many will not even bother with the exercise , there is nothing new

The real problems Ghana faces started very long time ago, if i should draw your attention to just a tit bit, it started when Dr JB Dankwa realized he could not outmaneuvered Dr Nkrumah, so right from the get go it was not about the welfare of the ppl of Ghana but a power struggle b/n two strong personalities, Dankwa and his group did everything possible to derailed Nkrumah, they eventually succeeded by the by help from the west. During the last five years be4 his overthrow the west tighten their grip, no monetary assistance, no aid, even common toilet rolls was completely depleted from legon warehouse, eventually the ppl turn against Nkrumah and so come the Darling to the West Dr Busia, the west open the floodgate of aid and other assistance, but Busia was just a bad leader with very expensive taste, his show of ostenteciousness and opulence angered many especially the military who were completely cut off from the golden pie..... so my brother, it has never been about the ppl of gh and it doesn’t matter who the leader might be, the ppl must rise and get involve, otherwise your Nana will disappoint you too, b'cos the problems has never changed from the ambitions that led to the Berlin Conference of 1884 by the west, and the goals of that conference are still being pursued..

Ghana need people who understand the dynamics of government. Mahama is clueless and you know that. Imagine the government coming out with a foolish statement that power outages will be "indefinitely" and what do you expect the people to do?
One more thing, we should get over something that took place at the dawn of our history and move on because as people, we have what it takes to do that.

What a sly way to stump on Akuffo Addo by dis-honestly trying to sound objective. This writer must have been paid to write this article or written by someone with a clear agenda parading as an objective Ghanaian. It's such a useless and shameful attempt to stab another man with a smile while attempting to hide your weapon of choice. We need progressive and well meaning writers to incite debate rather than this sort of gabbage that has no place in a society that wants to grow politically.

Tony Ghana is not at that peak like American in terms of industrial power and when we talk buy made in ghana goods it predominantly the cry over our dependent on items that can easily be done or produced here in ghana example textiles, rubber( we have rubber plantation in bonsa and that feeds bonsa tyres and why are we exporting our raw rubbers abroad and leaving these company's to die. our over dependent on simple foreign goods which are produceable in ghana is why we vent on made in ghana goods. why spend as much $1 billion on importation of rice while we have fertile lands to grow such crops in ghana. do not bring cars and electronics etc in this bracket but base your judgement on simple items that we are importing that can be produced in ghana. we even import tooth pick. african should pursue a path of industrialization and transform our raw materials into finished products. we have factories like asuatuare/komenda sugar factory, akosombo/juapong textiles, jute factory ghana and cannery factory somebody who said they are debt on the country now owns it all shut down and no single leader since Nkrumah has had the mental capacity to reason beyound fufu and kenkey to bring this state owned factories back to live. we should find a ground to move from buy and sell into a somewhat industrial transformation harnessing our raw materials into finished products. if the govt can finance over millions dollars in other areas why cant our past and present govt revitalize these above mentioned industries back to life. i remember my grandfather had 10 acres sugar plantation when asuature sugar factory was functioning and the govt was buying the sugar cane from farmers to feed these industries. it is achievable and part of the oil proceeds should be used to bring back these industries and not only on building SHS AND ROADS AND SEE THE NUMBER OF JOB CREATION THAT WILL EVOLVE AND HOW HAPPY AND CHEERFUL GHANAIANS WILL BE. IT IS ACHIEVABLE OUR LEADERS ARE JUST DAY SLEEPING AND CANNOT SEE BEYOUND THEIR COMFORT ZONE. NKRUMAH HAD VISION BUT HIS PREDECESSORS HAD TURNED HIS VISION INTO NIGHTMAREs. WE CANNOT EVEN MAINTAIN TEMA MOTOR WAY ONLY A 19 KM ROAD YET WE HAVE GHACEM AND TOLL TAX ARE BEING COLLECTED EVERYDAY ITS A SHAME. SO PLEASE CUT THE CAR AND AKUFFO ADDO AINT MY MAN CRAB. WHAT HE SAID WAS RIGHT BUT CAN HE REALLY DO THIS IF HE BECOMES PRESIDENT THIS IS WHERE GHANAIANS REASONING POWER KICKS IN INTERMS OF WHO HAS THE BEST POLICY TO TAKE THE NATION FORWARD.

I agree with you completely. You should read my article of last week with the title What are we buying into, Mr. President. I talked about how Komenda Sugar Factory lays in ruin. My point is that we should ask these people, including Mahama, how they will do these things before we elect them. I am against Akufo Addo because he has been running for how long? and the only thing that he has said he would do is free SHS which is not as critical as creating jobs. He has not said how he will create jobs. He has not said how he will industrialize Ghana. He has only said that we need to industrialize Ghana. I am saying we should ask these people for specifics while they are running for president and that includes Mahama.

If the writer had read the piece yesterday from Fifi Kwetey about the re-evaluation of the transformational tools required to bring about the change and transformation Ghana so badly deserves, he would realize that, even die hard sycophantic fanatics of the NDC in the mold of Fifi Kwetey have thrown their hands up in the air in despair, questioning where Ghana is headed under the Mahama gov't, of which he's an integral part.
Again, if he casts his mind back to the launching of the book by Sly Mensah of the NHIA, he would realize that, he was asking about a succession plan and how the failed NDC gov't could streamline that plan and make it possible for them to make changes in their domain.
Can the NDC gov't boast of any change or transformation? The referendum is about the stewardship of the NDC gov't for the 8years they have been in office and how well they have managed to solve their own inflicted challenges, how well they have brought about change or transformation in the living standards of the citizenry for the better, and how well they have managed to bring about change in the economic and finance situation of the country, to promote growth and development, reduce unemployment, address health, education, infrastructure, energy, jobs, corruption, etc, etc. The test is on the NDC gov't to prove their tenure in office, the glaring failures of which is going to ensure their ultimate sacking from office in 2016.

LOOTING, INSTITUTIONALISATION OF CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM AND WHAT HAVE YOU. JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE NUNGUA BARRIER TO TEMA ROAD WHICH DETERIORATED SERIOUSLY DURING THE NPP REGIME BUT NOTHING WAS DONE TO SAVE IT,BUT IS NOW BEING ASPHALTED. SEEING IS BELIEVING. NPP PEOPLE JUST MAKE NOISE TO COME AND STEAL. GOD FORBID, THEY WILL NOT COME BACK FOR A VERY LONG TIME. THERE ARE SEVERAL NUMEROUS PROJECTS TO CITE WHICH ARE GOING ON NOW BUT FOR LACK OF SPACE. NPP CAN MAKE ALL THE NOISE BUT THE SILENT MAJORITY WILL LET THEM KNOW IN 2016 THAT NOBODY CAN BE HOODWINKED AND THAT GHANA IS MADE UP OF TEN REGIONS AND THAT MAJORITY CARRIES THE VOTE.

In a past article, I have said that President Mahama is inadequate and should not be re-elected. I have also said, and said so in this article that if NDC wins again, Ghana will become a one party nation. For this reason, I so badly want NPP to win. If NPP nominate Akufo Addo again, it will be a rehashing of the last election. Mr. Akufo Addo has not said what has changed that will make him win. I am not aware of anyone who has looked at Mahama’s inadequacies and said that Akufo Addo said this or Akufo Addo would have done this because he said he would. They can’t say that because Akudo Addo didn’t say much past enumerating problems and offering SHS.
One example; Akufo Addo didn’t win Cape Coast. Mahama is now constructing a new market and a soccer stadium in Cape Coast. Major complaint of people from Cape Coast ever since the time I lived there was that government does nothing for Cape Coast. Do you think with these two constructions, They will turn around and vote for Akufo Addo? He can’t even say that NPP under Kufour did this and that for Cape Coast. He has to do a lot more than say Mahama has failed or Mahama is corrupt because people believe that all in government are corrupt and that includes Akufo Addo who actually seems to be a little less trustworthy than Mahama (Mahama has not been accused of using marijuana). Believe me, I want NPP to win. Unless something changes, I don’t see how Akufo Addo is going to do it.

The NPP Delegates will decide come the Congress day.Can NPP win the swing regions with Nana Addo?NPP must find out why they lost the swing regions to NDC.I will tell NPP to use Kuffour's strategy to capture all the 4 swing regions,Greater Accra,Central,Western and Brong Ahafo regions again. There is a Triangular force in our political system. The Gold Coast's capital and Ghana's capital plus Western region play powerful role in general elections because they vote on the same values. It will be better for NPP to focus on the 4 swing regions. My bet for 2016 is NPP but not with Nana Addo because I am afraid he is going to make the same mistake again. On a more serious note,I fear that even if he wins the NDC will also refuse to accept the results. With the little show I saw about Tsikata trashing the election petitioners in the Supreme Court makes me worried about Nana Addo's leadership. What will Nana Addo do if Mahama also challenges his legitimacy? This is the theory of paradox,if Nana Addo wins or loses there will be unnecessary tensions in the country. We have to blame Nana Addo for creating this post election tensions that is why NPP should spare Ghana some peace and stability.Thank you.

I used cars etc to make my point clearer. In an article last week, I talked about sugar and milk and maybe even growing cola and selling them to Nigeria. The fact remains that we must demand that people who run for president tell us exactly what they will do to change our situation rather than allow them to speak in generalities
