Honestly, I don´t see anything new going to happen or change within the elephant family. The problems of the npp are numerous and would take years to solve, and that is if they have the will power. For as long as their ignorant supporters continue to hold such negative mentality against other tribes, they will continue in opposition. As to what made them think Ghana is for them, as they have been saying all over, only heaven knows. This is just the beginning. There is going to be more division among these tribal group, than expected. They can never unite,let along find common ground among themselves. Would they allow a "Cow herd" and "Trokosi" to lead their party? If he does will they vote for him? If yes, Where from president Mahama? They will pretend and make it look as if they are open up to to all Ghanaians, but it is a lie. We live to see. If the Ashanti/Akyem feel too big for a Northerner to rule over them, as they are saying by calling the president names, would they vote for a northerner within that party? That is why I pity Bawumia and those and the rest among them. Look at the way they treated Afoko!

It looks like Bawumia is not seeing how stupid he is being made to look like. He, whose father comes from a different political tradition by which he, Bawumia, got his scholarships to study abroad. In any "normal" party, Bawumia will today be among the frontrunners in any upcoming primaries. He may not be politically experienced but he can learn. He will appeal more to the non-Akan voters than Akufo-Addo will ever do. But if he is a candidate, the core Ashanti/Akyem membership of NPP will prefer to stay at home than go out to vote for a Northerner - a cow herd.
The biggest requirement for the party now is to be a TRULY broad based party not just one on paper. NDC is not a better party than NPP but they (NDC) are more broadbased. In NDC, anybody from any part of the country can truly aspire to the true leadership of the party. This is impossible in NPP where anybody from any part of the country can aspire to the party chairmanship or presidential running mate but NEVER NEVER NEVER to the post of presidential candidate - the post that really matters and is seen by all as the face of the party. That face of the party will continue remaining Ashanti/Akyem. The rest can take the crumbs.
But true, we really need to go beyond this "cow herd", "trokosi", "ye Akanfo" mentality to look at the country as an entity - the improvement of any part of the country should be the concern of ALL OF US.

If the NPP elects him flag bearer the NDC will just go to work on him as they have done since 2008 and Mahama will win another term in office. NPP needs to elect Alan as flag bearer to stand a chance of victory

And some of those who voted for him may not do so this time. Only a few who didn't vote for him the last time will now do so - only a few. He will still be dogged by the same problems of the last two general elections.
Fresh executive should go along with a fresh presidential candidate. Only a new face can successfully challenge Mahama.

THEY SHOULD NOT BE SAID AT ALL and that is what Ak0ufo-Addo should admit!
