nana addo has a childhood dream to become president of but he has no vision, nothing to convince the people of Ghana that he has the qualities to become a president. he is relying on cheap popularity to ride on npp. this is what makes about 50% of Ghanaians doubt his intergrity. Nana addo could not convince Ghanaians that he went to law school. nana addo is always ridding on the back of confused npp members. It is a disgrace to Ghanaians for a former lawyer of a nation unable to defend himself in a court of law when he has to prove that he is a lawyer or never went to law school. rather he relied on powers that be to struck the case out of court. this is absurd.

So Little Nana's teacher is warned at the beginning of the school year not to ever make a bet with Nana unless she is absolutely sure she will win it. One day in class, Nana raises his hand and says "teacher, I'll bet you $50 I can guess what color your underwear is." She replies, "okay, meet me after class and we'll settle it." But before class ends, she goes to the restroom and removes her panties. After class is over and the students clear out, Nana makes his guess. "Blue." "Nope. You got it wrong," she says as she lifts her skirt to reveal she isn't wearing any underwear. "Well come with me out to my friend Alan's car, he's waiting for me, and I'll get you the money." She follows him out. When they get to the car she informs his friend Alan that he got the bet wrong and that she showed Nana that she wasn't wearing any underwear. His friend exclaims: "That mother fucker! He bet me $100 this morning that he'd see your pussy before the end of the day!"

I also believe that Nana should have fired that Mustapha idiot on the spot. However, Alan's own side "kicks" do not paint a very good picture of him either, especially if he wants to lead the NPP. His "vanishing acts" apart, he and his supporters ought to learn to play the party (collective responsibility) game.
Personally, I am praying that Mr Afoko, the new party Chairman gets to work quickly and begin to call all the cacophinc noises to order. Constitutionally, he ahd his General Secratary are the only ones that are pemrmitted to make pronoucements about the party UNTIL nomiations are open for "flagbearership!"

You are right on the money on Alan Kyeremateng, he has not been a team player for somebody who has aspiration for the Presidency. He has been missing on all the general elections. 2008 and 2012 on the side of Nana Akuffo Addo. I hope the two of them should patch up whatever differences they have for the good of the party.
As far as Nana firing Mustapha, that should not have been even a doubt about it for a second if the name should have been Boateng, Casely Hayford, Ankrah or any other name not associated with any other tribe from the Northern tribes or he risk being accused of selective justice. He is supposedly not Chairman Afokos best buddy and firing somebody from the North will aggravate whatever differences exist between the two.
With that said, it should not mean that Nana should not do anything about him. He should talk to him in private and then rebuke him in public to at least appease the Kyeremateng faction.
So far I have been disappointed about both camps. They should be doing everything to unite the party. It is too early to embark on this nomination campaign or at least it should be conducted with civility devoid of personal attacks.

Sarpong, I have always admired your stance and analysis of contemporal politics in Ghana but I must say I am very disappointed with your choice of Nana as flagbearer. Look, the NPP's problem is not really about factions or internal bickerings but their choice of candidate. If disunity was the cause then the NDC would be in opposition today. We all saw what happened in the FONKAR GAME.
In truth, I admit Nana may be a better President than Alan. But in Ghana we overlook such factors and reduce our taste to personalities. Many electorates are politically naive and less discerning and that is why the NDC is always lucky with with their propaganda. Why would you present a candidate who will always campaign in a defensive mode as Nana always does in Presidential elections?
I don't really like Alan, but I can assure you that he will beat Mahama any day if the NPP presents him. Have you done your own analysis as to why Nana manages to win in only NPP strongholds- Ashanti and Eastern. The NPP needs a president and not just a flagbearer.
My fiancee voted for Mills and Mahama in the last twoo elections. Do you know the reasons she gave? She said it was because ''Nana is arrogant''. However, when I puzhed her further, she could not tell why Nana is ''arrogant''.
All I'm trying to say is that many people just dont like Nana Akufo Addo and that is the reality. The smart and fair-minded men in NPP have come to thatt realization but for some selfish and envious reasons, many from Nana's camp will not see the truth and advicehim against contesting.
If you truely want NPP to win, then please start advocating for Nana to support someone like Bawumia who will appeal to many floating voters. Nana doesn't need Alan to win elections just as Mahama didn't need Rawlings to win. The NDC is not attractive but presenting Nana on NPP's ticket will be a disaster. Justice,
The reality is that unless the NPP adopts the NDC "Swedru Declaration" kind of election of flagbearership, Nana Akufo-Addo will beat any other candiddate hands down. Some in the NPP grassroots have never forgiven Alan for his resignation gimmick.
As far as elections 2008 and 2012 are concerned, from what transpired at the Supreme Court. I am still not convinced that Nana genuinely lost those two elections.
If Nana lost Election 2008, it was down to Mr Kufuor. First his inability or unwillingness to confront the corrupt elements in his government. Then there was the distribution of gold medals to all and sundry including Wofa Ata, leaving out his own party's presidential candidate in the first instance. Next re-appointing Dr Anane to his post, and finally Wereko-Brobby's Ghana@50 nonesense.
Those issues annoyed a lot of Ghanaians and put many floating voters off the NPP. You may fault Nana for not putting in place the necessary structures to prevent Afari-Djan's voodoo mathematics in Election 2012. But that issue is still there and unless our flawed electoral system is fixed, it will not matter who leads the NPP in Election 2016, the result will be the same.
That is what I think the new NPP executive should concern themselves with!

It's absurd to hang NPP on Nana and Alan. What is so special about Nana Addo and Alan in NPP?Are they more intelligent than anybody in the NPP?Are they the ones raising funds to run the party? Are they the only members in the party or what?Let me tell you guys, none of these 2 gentlemen can win power for NPP because they are behaving like Russian dictators. If Nana and Alan really love NPP they should have resigned for a new face and a more strategic leader to carry the party forward rather than insisting by all means to lead the party to nowhere. You don't win general elections by popularity but by effective strategy of which none of them has thus the party still struggling in opposition. It beats my mind when I hear some people counting on false Nana Addo's popularity. Why did he not win the 2008 and 2012 general elections with his so called popularity?NPP will be very naive if they elect Nana Addo again because there will be unnecessary high tensions in the country even if he wins.I am afraid even if he wins the NDC will automaticlly refuse to concede because that is exactly what Nana Addo has been doing over the years. No intelligent politician will bet on Nana Addo because of the related high risk that comes with.It will be in the best interest of NPP to solicit for a new younger and intelligent candidate who can win all the swing regions for the party. That is what NPP needs but not Nana and Alan nonsense.Thank you.

OKATAKYIE SARPONG, this is a very good and admirable piece for NPP's unity. The NPP risks losing the 2016 General Election because of the acrimonious divisions and infighting at the heart of the party leadership. Disturbingly, NPP's infighting plays into the hands of NDC.
First of all, the concern that certain elements within the party are desperately trying to 'impose' Nana Akufo-Addo, as an unchallenged Presidential candidate for the NPP should be addressed. Nana's personal and leadership ambition should not go against the principles of the party. I believe there're other plausible candidates for the party's leadership other than the Nana-Alan psychodrama. The Presidential candidacy of the NPP must be open to all potential candidates.
Mr Alan Kyerematen is still a prominent member of the NPP. The fact that his party membership hasn't been cancelled, and the party's constitution doesn't prevent him from contesting, then, Nana's loyalists should get off Alan's back. Just as the party Delegates spoke at Tamale, we should let them decide both Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan's fate.
