Kabokabo, you sound so stupid to think in your faeces carrying head that northerners are more literate than southerners in Ghana. No matter how a Ghanaian northerner is educated he still thinks and behaves like a Zongo man. Northerners never become enlightened. Northerners behave like goats just dirtying themselves all around.
A northerner living in the south (except my best friend born and bred in Accra) still exhibits lack of decorum and decency. They behave like prisoners let loose from jail.
This is even found in your JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA who thinks he is using his position to amass as much wealth as he could even though his fellow northerners he pleaded with to vote for him are living in squalor. A northerner is a northerner is a northerner, they never become enlightened and they think stealing and being flashy is a sign of being enlightened. Come again Kabokabo.

the problem with this northern mentality is that thanks to jj they now all have an unquenchable thirst for power but never to serve in a team or accept their fellow countrymen . just look around in Accra and study the majority of the businesses owned by these northerners and in the majority of the medium and Small sized businesses you notice they only employ their fellow northerners and practically never employ an Akan . Today in Accra the largest religious building in the country will be the mosque being build on our national park at Nima donated by Turkey confirming the Islamic domination of Ghana. Tribalism mixed with chauvinism and despotism from the north has now equaled the hegemony of the ewes . A.C.C.R.A any criminal can roam about so we have them everywhere now . even at the scholarship secretariat hardly ever is an Akan awarded the privilege to go abroad and study now . The Akans are the majority but because most continue to sleep or blindly trust the other tribes these atrocities are taking place . We look at the political strategy of the NDC and see the typical Hannibal wench when he turned the strengths of the mighty Roman army against themselves as they are doing to the Akans . From the south they use part of the Fantis and from the North the Brongs , from behind we have the chariot onslaught of the Gas Ewes Krobos. Yes the political landscape reflects a war which is only meant to destroy the right of self governance of the God's chosen nation of Africa the Akan . For them its a big deal who leads the NPP but we really don't care as our movement grows stronger by the hour as more and more Akans wake up to reality of this dire situation . We did not ask for this war but we will fight it and be victorious as God is with us . Long live the Republic of Akan

Any President in Ghana should have the freedom in appointing people they feel comfortable working with and if these appointees happen to be from one tribe or two, so be it as long as those appointed are qualified and can do the job they are appointed to.
Mahama did not lie to Ghanaians on his intention about how he was going to rule. He told us it was time for a Northern President and told Northerners to vote for their own. They did and this is the only promise he kept by appointing majority Northerners.

It's saddening that after starting a great exposé of the P/NDC's history of corruption from the 80s-90s, the author falls for the fraudulent posture affected by Rawlings with his many demagogic, hypocritical rants. Jerry Rawlings fools nobody. He is part and parcel of the rot, nay the greediest bastard of them all. A man who after extorting the late Mills to build him a free mansion, does not express appreciation and gratitude but shamelessly complains about the government not providing furnishings! His avarice knows no bounds and cannot be satiated. Woyome paid Rawlings $500,000 from his judgment debt loot - and there is absolutely no reason not to believe that Woyome is telling the truth! The author forgets to mention that P.V. Obeng was exposed as the conduit for bribes paid to Rawlings by Scancem during the court proceedings in Norway. Obeng did not negotiate a bad deal. Obeng negotiated a very sweet deal for Rawlings and the P/NDC cabal that has been reinstated.
There is no justification for the author to be puzzled by the re-instatement of the gang from the 80s and 90s. THEY HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN TO WHAT THEY DO BEST - ENGINEERING MASSIVE LOOTING OF THE NATIONAL COFFERS!!!

You have hit the nail right on the head. The problem with Ghanaians is, we readily accept gifts to vote against our conscience and soon turn around to blame ourselves. Ghanaians took money from the incompetent NDC to vote them into power. Yes, we hardly consider the consequences of our actions, we are only interested in immediate gratification. Didn't the NDC say they were going to turn the Jubilee House into a poultry farm? Isn't the current government using the facility? What a shame! Ghanaians make bad choices!

To reduce Ghana to proportional representation of ethnic groups is to either be ignorant or deliberately foolish.Ghana is a unitary state with a very clear constitution on regional balance not ethnic balance. Please give a break down of the ministers from the north and do your mathematics. Its not possible to have 80% Northerners as ministers. Anyway, the "Northner" is not the name of any ethic group in the Ghana. Pple like Nana Osei are just a baggage for those they support politically. If every Ghanaian thought like you we will have chaos. Ghana is more than Akan or Ga or Ewe or Dagomba or Gonja or Kasena or Dagarti or who ever. Please get a life a stop wasting you low life writing crap. If you want an ethnic empire please go to Swaziland!!!

How can you say such a stupid thing as "competitive exams that most southerners write". Do we have separate institutions setting exams for the North and the South? If there is please name such institution and define what is competitive? You are such a low life. I have a lot of friends of diverse backgrounds and I respect them. At Legon we all took the same exam. Pple like you are the cause of the genocides and wars in Africa. Merely reducing pple to their ethnicity and geographical location. Being Akan or Dagomba or Ga or Ewe is not enough. You must be competive and hard working to succeed. Kofi Annan did not become the UN Secretary General bcos he is Akan or Ga or who ever. John Mahama is no President bcos he is Gonja. President Kuffour not bcos he is Akan or Ga. They worked hard and pple recognised their effort. Keeo living in 1954 Maate meho days!!! Those days are over!!! We are all Ghanaians no matter your ethnicity. I dont care what ethnic group the president is. I dont think that puts food on anybody's table. I can eat in your house or sleep in you roof bcos we are from one ethnic group. So what is the point? Please mr. statistics go get a life!!!

Please Cardinal, nobody complained about "Northerners" under Kuffuor. They complained about no representation of Upper West in cabinet. Upper West is not an ethnic group. After all there are Akans who live and hail from that region. Kwesi Nyantakyi and Maxwell Konadu are classical examples. There also people from other ethnic groups living in Greater Accra, Ashanti and the rest. So to reduce us to this small mindset of ethnicity is be living in the days of immediate post independence Ghana. Ajarko, the M.P of Ayawaso West is an Akan but MP in Accra, so how do you reconcile that? Lets move away from these dangerous paths. Thank you

I am calling you out Nana Osei and your abuse of intellectual reasoning. There is no law in Ghana that ever called on government to adhere to tribal quotas or representation. But assuming for a minute that were the case you could start with an NPP political party that is in existence because it consistently represents two (Ashanti and Eastern) regions of Ghana and an NDC party that is mostly of Volta and Brong-Ahafo regions. The people of Central, Western, GT Accra and Northern regions of Ghana are the regions where the ideas, ideals and wisdom embodied in democratic values and principles are at play. Yet those are the regions where people tend to abused by leaders of the majority NDC and NPP parties.
Under Kufour every post of importance and of national value were assigned to people from the Ashanti and or Eastern region. Under J.J. Rawlings, it was the people of the Volta and Brong-Ahafo regions while under Atta Mills he kowtowed to the J.J. Rawlings brow beating he acquiesced to the folly. The two powerful individuals under Atta Mills were not from Central or Western regions they had their Volta region roots.
