Shame on you, Mahama. You're such a failed politician. Of course, Akufo-Addo is the only solution to Ghana's problems, the problems caused by an evil sect calling itself a party. Democrats, my foot! Ghanaians are tired, and are looking forward to that great day, when Akufo-Addo is sworn-in as president. Why will the NDC be having sleepness nights after he announced his intentions to contest again? They've always prayed for Alan to come, because he won't be a match. So day in, day out, people publish lies, carefully cooked-up stories with name-calling, to discredit him. But he's remained unshakeable, unmovable, solid like rock. There's one truth about last elections: The NPP didn't lose. We witnessed a case of election fraudulent and thievery, unprecedented in the country's history. The NDC must be told that they won't succeed again.

Justice, I'm a great admirer of Nana Akuffo Addo. I've great confidence in his leadership and I support whole heartedly his presidential aspirations but I'm afraid you,Atta Akyea nor any of Nana's faithfuls have yet made the compelling argument as to why every ghanaian should support Nana's presidential bid. Yes, he has a rich family heritage; he's not corruption prone; he's compassionate and people centered; has an impressive work experience in both private and public service; old at 70 years but strong, healthy, wise and prudent, , competitive, unyielding, etc. These are great qualities for a man with presidential ambitions but what kind of president is Akuffo Addo going to be should the people give him the nod ? What is he going to do differently? How is his going to resuscitate a belly-up economy and transform it from the raw materials production syndrome to an industrialised, technology based job producing economy? Is Nana's leadership going to be transformational and if you answer yes, how? What is his leadership going to do about the systemic and widespread corruption? What is he going to do about the broken down state institutions and make them strong, independent and proactive? What is Nana going to do about a broken down education system that's churning out thousands of half educated dim wits each year. The education curricula and teaching methods must be overhauled to fit into a 21st Century economy and technology. What about real probity, transparency and accountability in both the public and private sector? What about 'catch them young' sports development? What's his plan to jump start and revolutionalize roads and infrastructure development to accelerate growth? Is he going to industrialize agriculture, modernize farming, turn it into a worthwhile and profitable occupation, and make Ghana food sufficient? How about embarking on a massive decentralization policy and transfer some power to regional and district administrations to ease the congestion at the central administration? For example allowing the people to elect their own town, city, district and regional executives will transfer more power to the people and ensure the elected officials are accountable to the electorate.
There are a lot more questions and Nana must come out with a well defined plan and strategy to redeem a nation that has been brought down on its knees by serial, unapologetic, inept and corrupt state officials. Is Nana Akuffo Addo going to do his utmost best to unite a divided nation and heal the wounds or is he going to widen and deepen the divide? After several years of frustrations and disappointments the people of Ghana don't deserve just another president but a transformational president who among other things will ensure the rule of law and order, inspire parliament to pass anti discrimination and freedom to information laws and make equal justice, equal rights and equal opportunity a living reality for all ghanaians regardless of tribe, political party affiliation, gender, etc.

Did you mean to say the event got off to a late start, 20.00 GMT instead of the scheduled 18.00GMT? Ridiculous! Punctuality and time management are definitely issues that any progressive new administration needs to tackle head-on because they affect productivity. Leaders must set example with punctuality. Tardiness is indiscipline and must be discouraged at all levels of society. It's pne of the reasons for our under-development.
Every meeting must start and end on time. If we don't put an immediate stop to tardiness and sloppy time management we will end up locked out of heaven, waiting in vain behind the gate.

We have the opportunity to break away from the antiquated legacy of attaching ever-so-tightly to the past political leaders whose actions were parochially predicated upon the interests of only a section of the Population. Akufo-Addo could be the last of those leaders who want that legacy to continue.
He does not hold much promise for the Country with that trait. His familial links to 3 out of the BIG SIX does not confer any rights upon him to lead the Nation. Period!
I have long cautioned our current Political Leaders that so long as we keep exhuming the remains of the past Politicians to claim any eligibility to govern, their skeletons in the closet would haunt us like disturbed apparitions.
We cannot keep claiming Danquah/Busia/Dombo this, Nkrumah that to objectively and pragmatically confront the challenges we have today. The only benefit we might derive from invoking the memories of these dead Politicians is boldly sifting their deeds and assembling ONLY the best of them together to use as a guide for choosing the best strategy to govern.
None of those Politicians were totally evil. None was an Angel. For mere inspiration, maybe, we only have to pick only the progressive, constructive ideas of each.
While we could objectively know from among those Politicians that one might have done more good than the other, or more destructive things than the other, that is not materially relevant to our struggle now.
We have fought among ourselves for all these many years trying to project our favorite among these dead Politicians over the others, without much of any advancement from that fight. We have only been wasting our efforts in doing those stupid battles.
So, let us quit that foolishness of claiming superiority of eligibility to rule the Nation from our link, physical or otherwise, to these past leaders. What we need now is a leader who can go beyond those trailing sentimentalities and focus on drawing the best brains and dedicated Citizens together for mutual growth.
This is the more reason why I, personally, felt disappointed by the "Yen Akanfo de..." unfortunate utterance by Nana Akufo-Addo. After the many entreaties from all angles to get Nana to recant that divisive, provocative ethnic blurb, and possibly apologize to the larger Ghanaian Public failed, I saw no other reason why any discerning, well-meaning Ghanaian had to support his Presidency.
His choice of Dr. Bawumia for a VP, and bringing the sharpest focus on the Dombo part of the NPP ideological nickname "Danquah/Busia/Dombo" Party, does nothing to assuade the concern of the masses on Nana's seeming proclivity to ethnocentrism. To many that is a thin veneer to veil the underlying tribalism of Nana's. If the entire Citizenry would ever hear an apology from Nana for that infamous utterance, the earlier it came the more credible or genuine it might be.
To be blunt, if any other Akyemkwaa with half the CV that Nana claims minus Nana's blatant bigotry, were to contest for the Presidency, that person would receive greater approval by Ghanaians than Nana.
Right now, the most conspicuous problem that Ghanaians fault the Nation's Economy with is the endemic Corruption in high places. While that vice can exist under both a leadership that is tribalistic, and that which seems to be diverse in nature, it is under a leadership that brazenly espouses divisiveness along ethnic lines that more emphatically promises nothing more than Corruption to the Nation from the get-go. Why would anyone want to embrace such a leadership with that Advertisement? Corruption feeds fatly on the exclusive reservation of favors to only a small group of people. And any leader who carves out the Nation for the purpose of attending to only a section of the Citizenry must be rejected outright.
The insults and intimidations that some of Nana's supporters unwarrantly unleash upon others for their divergent opinions also further alienates him from more of the Electorate. How winnable is that strategy?
