I wonder if you really sat down to read the writeup. Edusei is not saying that Alan cannot contest. From what i gather from the readings, he's only advising Alan that considering the huge following of Nana, and this is very true of the results from the previous flagbearer contests of the NPP, that Alan has no chance of wining once Nana is contesting. He is even advising that for him to be very sure, he should go to the delegates and listen to them very well. Once he's convinced that he has their support then he can contest. I dont think that what he's written warrants any insults.
Looking at the way Nana supported Kuffour, I think that if all NPP people will support Nana, there's no way the NPp will lose any elections in Ghana.
It is in the interest of the NPP that we are all pleading with Alan to throw his weight behind Nana to wrestle power from the NDC.

For such a long and winding article I believe the writer was not fair, objective, democratic enough to wish a contestant or a challenger off/ away just to make the unrealistic and purpetual loser Nana Addo stay unoposed.
The whole write-up is defeated by the initial quote from the writer himself and seems illogical Alan losing in part of life you will become a better person for it.

No higher power has ordained Akufo-Addo to be the Country's next President. Our Democracy allows and demands that we have multiple candidates to contest for various positions. So, leave Alan alone to exercise his role in the process.
This is yet another ploy to stifle any legitimate competition against Akufo-Addo. He may have made a name for himself in many ways. But he has not proven one bit that he has what it takes to rule the Nation in peace and for progress.
Nana is only relentlessly trying to fulfil his own personal ambition and cannot stand having anyone else in his way. His seemingly soft front and relative quietness to charm the electorate as a gentle statesman is all contrived, after people heavily descended on his violent "Yen Akanfo de.." war-mongering posture and utterances.
Besides his borrowing of the "Free Education" policy from the old CPP that he has shown loathing for, what other progressive ideas has Akufo-Addo advanced? What he does best is hiding behind the scenes in restrained silence to instigate violence and making disruptive comments at opportune times.
We must not be carried away by the euphoria from his protest to the Elections at the SC to just dole the Flagbearership to him. He must be vigorously tested like everyone else to see what real plans he has for the whole Nation, not just for Akans. Courting Bawumia to walk beside him must not fool anyone as Nana's exhibition of tolerance for diversity.
Sometimes it takes a full scan to reveal who one really is. History has shown that some privileged folks would seem to be nice to others only superficially, and when it comes to the nitty-gritty of proving how they measure the humanity of the others, then those elites fall short miserably.
Long Live Ghana!!!

No one is stifling any competition against Nana. Why would you call this a ploy? For the life of me, Nana had to give way to Kuffuour so what if Alan is advised to do same. So you honestly think Nana is after his own personal glory? What a blatant lie? How well do you know the guy? So Alan is not attempting to fulfil his own personal ambition. You honestly think he can save Ghana. Oh my oh my. Berko, I care not to know who you are but your mind is made up against Nana running for one reason - petty jealousy, subtle jealousy can be deciphered throughout your article. Why, you even speak of privileged folks - does that bother you that the guy was blessed with a famous family. My Goodness, get a life, Berko, get a life and get your facts straight. Thereafter you come back on this forum and we will have an intelligent discourse. For now, please continue to wallow in your "who ordained Akuffo-Addo as the only . .." and see the NPP win. Thank God Alan will not be listening to folks like you because really you are not looking out for his best interest.

Well, Mr.Edusei, do you see what poverty can do to a people? When you give this sound advice, some people who true to themselves know you are right, but for the few cedis they will get from other aspirants by posing as their campaign agents they choose to insult you and defy the reality. They do not care whether their party comes to power or not once they are able to sing praises of some contestants and get a few cedis into their pockets. If this were not so, I do not see anything wrong with your suggestion to Allan to attract all these insults instead of they also putting up their case to counter yours.
I really weep for NPP as a party harboring such selfish self-centered characters!!
