As usual a president must get his full two terms in office. Ganga Akufo Addo and Saint Alan Kyeremanten are aware of this. Just because they want to obtain their self- actualization status.

You must be living on a different planet if you hold the view that President Mahama is loved and trusted by Ghanaians in spite of the sufferings he continues to inflict on them by his bad and unpopular policies. The President himself knows he is hated and mistrusted by the majority of Ghanaians, including many who loved him before he began killing us with his bad policies. Come down to Earth, and to Ghana, my friend.

I think Mahama is calm and hard-working. I know how uneasy it is to lead a country with so many ethnic groups each looking at things not from reality point of view but from the tribal attitude which insists that one's own tribal man from a tribal party could have been doing better.
To make things worse, most Ghanaians don't really have the country at heart. To them, it's each for himself. At the least opportunity, most Ghanaians will choose venality rather than probity. You see it right across all spectrum of the society: judges that will withhold judgement until they have been bribed, causing cases to run in the court for years; the police that cannot function without being bribed; the customs officers and the boarder guards looking for their palms to be greased, and so on all the way to the pastors/prophets most of whom feel no shame living fat on their starving, struggling people, doing everything to extract every money they can from them by scaring them with false prophesies. These pastors/"prophets" are making the wonderful word of God difficult to embrace and live with. Romans 2:24 says, "As it is written: God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."
Everybody is guilty. The State Ministers and the parliamentarians are all vying with each other to fill their pockets. They don't strive to find out how contracts are awarded or executed. What matters to them is their kickbacks. Everybody is greedy, selfish, tribalistic, corrupt, nepotistic, and heartless.
How can a president succeed in this environment?
It should be mentioned that the President himself is not completely innocent in every one of these charges: So many unnecessary contracts awarded to his knowledge and not supervised, especially contracts going to the north. Too much duplication of staffers around him and in the ministries for a poor, struggling country like Ghana - too much abuse of the oil revenue which is already tied up in loans.
In short, everybody needs to pay attention and work to pull the country out of its sputtering economy.
It starts with the love and fear of God. If we fear God, loving our neighbour will come easily. There will be fairness all across the board and the economy will begin to bounce back; selfless policies like locally producing goods rather than suspiciously giving import license to favorites to import those goods will help a lot. Jobs will be created when emphasis is placed on local production. How should we be importing rice and beef and so many other items when we can produce them locally? Governments see things in party instead of national terms. Projects started by one party is abandoned by the other. The people are the sufferers. Politics and not serious engagement in business seems to be the only way for a person to be rich as most politicians are constantly seeking to stash stolen money in foreign accounts. Like one of them said, s/he was going remain in politics until s/he hit a million dollar mark before getting out. In fact, s/he would have waited till hitting two millions and then three and then four... That truly is the objective of most of the politicians s/he knew.
Only God can save Ghana!- Our otherwise beautiful, handy Ghana.
