Though you and I happen to disagree on a lot of national issues I've always respected your right to think differently and independently. You should know better than taking this bait from the NDC spin doctors without a blink. Making Nana Akuffo Addo your regular punch line will do nothing to change the NDC economic nightmares to blissful days. Who needs prodding to go on demonstrations when reckless economic policies have not just driven them to the wall but threatening to force them through the concrete wall? These are real everyday life issues so be careful you don't spin it out of control.

STEVE,
Not until the so-called intercepted cable is made public for all to see, I'll say it's all hogwash.
This is just an NDC propaganda put out there to seek the sympathy of the Ghanaian populace. They know that their days are numbered with all the demonstrations and public angst against them. They took the Ghanaians for fools, thinking that because of the Ghanaian obedience and respect for people in authority, they could take us for a ride and nobody will be any wiser.
Well, now the chicken has come home to roost and the NDC leadership is shaking in their boots.
They will, therefore, put anything out there to confuse the gullible. What never got into their blockheads is that there's a saying that goes like: "you can fool some people sometime but you can't fool all the people all the time". Very simple, basic rule but NDC politicians thought they were above it.
Not all Ghanaians are gullible. So until the 'evidence' is made public, I think wise-thinking Ghanaians should look at this as another NDC propaganda bullshit.

The writer is steeped in the past as he talks about Western powers and Eastern European nations. Today, European countries have come together and they don't see themselves as West and East as it was in the cold war era. Poland, The Czech Republic, etc., today see themselves as European countries and not as Eastern bloc. Even Russian wanted to join the European Security cooperation but was rejected. Today, China is doing well economically, because they stopped seeing the world as divided into Western bloc and Eastern bloc. China opened up, learning from good countries especially United States, Britain, Germany, France, etc. China sent their students to these countries to study the good things there and come home to help China. Today, China still imports machines from these countries for their scientific and technological development. Ghana must wake up and follow the example China. China worked with the so called Western countries and it has paid off. Many Ghanaians like to blame others for their problems. Many Ghanaians don't responsibility for their actions. What does the "West" want from Ghana that they will not get from better countries. If the good countries had looted their national coffers, they would not be good countries today. Today, the Government of Ghana and many Ghanaians are destroying mother Ghana and you are blaming European countries.

Conspiracy theories cannot save the day for the NDC administration. It's not a winning strategy but a defeatist attitude for this comic-opera NDC regime to turn to spin doctors to salvage its sunken image. They should not insult our intelligence. This is just the beginning of the end. Many more dominoes will fall after the TUC demonstrations then the end will come if the NDC chooses to insult our intelligence rather than rolling up their sleeves and get serious with bread and butter issues.
