Thousands of people read everyday without posting any comments, that doesn't make you an idiot. Knowing the truth is all that is required, and people have helped to shape societies through their writings. In embarking on such daily crusade like Okoampa does, all his derives from those write-ups is an inner joy, satisfaction, that at least someone like you, has read and known the truth. Intent is not to please anyone. When the farmer scatters his seeds on the ground, his only resolve is that he would reap good harvest after many days. He leaves the rest to nature. People are genuinely concerned about Akufo-Addo's age and his strong desire to become the president. What were his achievements as an MP and a Minister in the former NPP government to call for the destiny of this country to be surrendered to him at his advance age?
Akoampa, no matter what, Akufo-Addo would be elected the flagbearer of the NPP but that shouldn't prevent people from expressing their views on the kind of problems or challenges this country is likely to face should he be eventually elected the president of the country.
If expressing his views about Akufo-Addo's age makes Pro. Kwasi Amakyi a Paid NDC Hack so be it!!

It is an undisputed fact that apart from the usual human failings, Mr Kufuor by all accounts (in terms of the management of the economy, health, education, national resources and projection of Ghana on the international arena), has been the best leader Ghana has had since independence.
On the other hand, with the exception of Afrifa all the youthful leaders Ghana has had have been total disasters! It has been the same with the "Small Boys and Girls Team B Ministers." May be we should think of moving the bar in terms of qualification of leadership in Ghana!

As for Okoampa, he has clocked at least 30 years there. He was brought by his parents and attended university there and got 3 first degrees - by his own account. Okoampa knows more about the US than he will ever know about Ghana.
I don't know how often the two of you visit Ghana. I am raising this issue because I wonder how people like Okoampa write two or three articles about Ghana on a daily basis when they left the country decades ago, may (or may not) even have a vote, don't know what is happening in the country first hand, etc etc.
I have also lived outside the country a long time, older than the two of you. One thing I have realized is the necessity of visiting Ghana often to really know what is happening in the country, to hear the views of the political elite but, more importantly, the views of the ordinary Ghanaian - those who take trotro and eat waatse or kenkey by the roadside. Those who wake up everyday and take cutlass and hoe and walk one hour to tend their farms. You have to see all the small boys and girls who wake up and don't know where their next meal will come from.
I am currently in Ghana and seeing these things with my very eyes. I am seeing the stinking wealth of the political elite of both major parties. These people are not even ashamed of displaying their wealth amidst so much poverty.
So when I read people like Okoampa or Adofo, or you talking about Akufo-Addo as if he were Jesus, or others talking about Mahama as if he was Muhammed or Gandhi, I want to vomit.
BOTH NDC AND NPP ARE RUNNING OUR DEAR COUNTRY TO THE GROUND.
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN OUR LEADERS - THOSE IN GOVT AND OPPOSITION - THAT I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY.
But all of us must visit Ghana often to see first hand what is happening. I am coming again next year and in 2016. I love my country and my people so much that I want to be with them more often than siting in the comfort of Europe or North America and writing about them.
