By the way, does it mean one's contribution to party devt is only calculated in financial terms? So who wil kil himself for somebody to win a seat only for that seat to become a personal property? Childish decision.

Much have been said in the gossip media about national chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong's misplaced priorities and loyalty to Alan Kyeremanten to the effect that they've schemed to scupper Nana Akuffo Addo's 2016 presidential ambition just to hand Alan a smooth ride to 2020. I've often dismissed these as sheer figment of imagination. Lately, I'm beginning to second guess myself because of new developments antecedent to election 2016.
The affirmative action or policy for women parliamentarians is very laudable and proactive but it's being poorly executed. Much as I fully support the active and increased participation of women at the policy making levels of business and politics, they must come on board as the most competent, most qualified and of sound moral character. Hilary Clinton should not be the democratic party's nominee for president just because she's a woman but because she's very well qualified to be president.
Some of the ghanaian women are just as efficient as the men or perhaps more but some of them are just as corrupt too as the men. We need very competent and dedicated men and women who are free from corruption to be our law makers.
Asking parliamentary seat contestants to pay a fee amounts to making some seats uncontestable and declaring those parliamentarians lawmakers for life. That's undemocratic and will stimulate defections from the party. It will also weaken the morale of grassroots supporters and cause the defeat of the party in the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections. Maybe it's part of the grand scheme hatched by Afoko and Agyepong to pave the way for Alan Kyeremanten's presidential bid in 2020. If this is true then it marks the beginning of the end of the NPP as a viable political party. If they cause Nana's defeat in 2016 his supporters will never forgive them and in 2020 it will be pay back time.
