Every contemptible display of gutter level politics in Ghana we witness each day takes place because of a well meaning but ignorant Ghanaian voter public that vote because of tribal affiliations or preferences and not on wisdom, morals or ideas. But the background of Freddy Blay goes much deeper beyond the ignorance of most voters; it brings backing to assertions that politics in Ghana is not about good governance but about who or which party can steal and misappropriate national coffers the most without paper trail and come out smelling like roses for dummied down voter public.
As I have said and will continue to preach, we live in a messy Ghana because of Ghana's educated class. J.J. Rawlings and his hoodlums came to power because of agitations by our incorrigible university students. Freddie Blay came to be because he was a thieving SOB even from his days as a university student. He was unprincipled, lacking in commitment and loyalty when he bolted from the CPP to join the Kufour looting brigade; but some Ghanaians swear by Kufour even with thieves like Blay in tow. Freddie Blay will continue to gain in stature because NPP is about good government as a fox is about guarding the chicken pen.
