There are some people within the NPP leadership criminally in bed with the NDC party, and Kufour himself has accepted that fact. There are NDC hired spies implanted in the NPP leadership to destroy the party's fortunes in the 2016 elections, and that must be investigated thoroughly and the perpetrators punished to send a clear message to all Ghanaians that the party will not accept such criminal behaviour in our democratic dispensation.
This is the mother and father of all electoral malpractices that led to the removal of President Nixon from the White House and NPP should not sit idle by while some unscrupulous hired agents destroy the democratic will of Ghanaians to choose their leaders freely and democratically. Contrary to what the discredited former EC Chairman said, this is another example of how elections are rigged far away from polling stations.

The NPP Constitution and its basic rules and regulations were in place and binding on all its members before some were elected to executive positions. So, being an elected executive doesn't mean that Afoko can't be disciplined according to the party's basic laws.
For example, the president of Ghana is subject to the basic laws of Ghana, and if he flouted any of them, he could be impeached and removed from office even though he was elected by some gullible voters. Also, President Nixon was actually removed from office because of his involvement in the Watergate Scandal.
Mr. Afoko was said to have been invited many times to defend and exonerate himself from the serious allegations leveled against him, but he failed to do so clinging to technicalities that did not help his course or that of the party. The allegations and his misconduct led to application of the party's disciplinary action against him. This is the Democracy and rule of law that exist in the NPP party, and they show that nobody is above the law in the party.

I don't think Mahama deserves any more four years unless Ghanaians want to commit mass suicide. The dismal performance rate of 20% cannot renew the mandate of any government in this world freely, fairly and democratically, and I wonder how he is going to account for the 37 billion dollars the NDC government borrowed so far.

My friend, jew guy, your comparison is as porous as the lack of substance in it.
Dr. Obed Asamoah had no constituency in Ghana despite his many years of doing politics, moving from the UP to the pro-Nkrumahist National Alliance of Liberals of Gbedemah, falling into limbo, and resurfacing under Rawlings. He had been accepted in the Biakoye constituency but lost everything when new faces emerged to prove to the citizens that better things could have been done without him.
Rawlings helped resuscitate him and when he fell out (dragging along with him much suspicion about his integrity---remember the loss of 100 million Cedis of the NDC's cash when he was the party chairman?) and many others---he had proved to be unworthy of whatever respect was being given him at the time.
Falling out with Rawlings and breaking away to form the DFP was the last straw to break his own back. Disgruntled as he, Bede Ziedeng, and Frances essiam were, there was nothing they could do to damage the NDC's interests. They went into "exile" and realized their folly.
Ask yourself why the NDC still won the elections without them and why they have chosen to return to base.
Unlike the NPP, the NDC is a national party. No more on that score.
In 1979, the UP family broke up because of intrigues of the sort that Akufo-Addo is bringing to bear on the NPP's politics in our time. Such a broken camp had nothing to gain. What is happening now is a repetition of the nonsense that brought back to power the Nkrumah tradition even if its rule was shortlived. In this current situation, though, Akufo-Addo and his cabal will remain doomed!!

Dr. Michael J.K. Bokor cunningly avoided mentioning the known fact that Ewes have always voted strictly based on the dictates of their tribal warlords regardless of any national issues. Their leaders have misled them for long, and there are signs suggesting that they would vote against tribalism and NDC in the next general election because; the common people have seen the light.
Ewes have always condemned the overthrow of Ghana's first communist dictator but kick against the removal of Kotoka's name from the airport in the nation's capital just because he was Ewe. Believe me if it were the name of Ankrah or that of Afrifa, charlatans like Michael Bokor would have been writing tones of tribalistic articles to support removal of the name from that airport. Again, when Yeboah killed Kotota in the failed counter coup against the NLC, Ewes immediately pointed an accusing finger at Afrifa, saying that he had masterminded the killing in order to take the top job from Kotoka because he was Ewe.
As a result of these conspiracy theories cemented by tribal bigotry, the Progress Party won overwhelmingly in all the regions of Ghana in 1969 except the Volta region. Subsequently, they said Victor Owusu accused them of being inward looking, and the statement was used to justify many of their actions including the overthrow of the newly elected government. Although the region benefited tremendously from the PP government in terms of development projects within that short period, they still went ahead and overthrew it unjustifiably plunging the country into the abyss under Acheampong.
It will surprise you to know that planning of the coup started immediately after the government was sworn into office, and that had nothing to do with what it did or did not do in office. The truth is that Ewes planned it and lured Acheampong into it by offering him the leadership position. Busia's government made Acheampong the Army Commander and he was now being asked to betray the trust, so the reward must be big enough. The coup plotters, on the other hand, realized that he was the only obstacle in their way and they willingly made him the leader in order to reach their goal. Unfortunately, the scenario was repeated in 1981 when Rawlings deceived Akatapore and others to betray Dr. Liman paving the way for his second coup.
Those who planned and executed the 1972 coup were all Ewes, and they were Major Agbo, Major Baah, Major Solomey, and the rest of the Ewe Majors that constituted the so-called National Redemption Council immediately after the coup. Also, when Rawlings used the tribal card to occupy Ghana in the 80s and 90's, the country was virtually an Ewe Kingdom, and it will be naive and even dishonest for a so-called intellectual like Michael Bokor to believe or say that Rawlings ever won an election in Ghana freely, fairly and democratically. In fact, he used to steal verdicts of Ghanaians to remain in power fraudulently.
