In the first place homosexuality is dehumanizing. It is sexual perversion. It is a mental disorder, it must be treated like a disease. The proclivity towards that feeling does not make it right. Our culture and values do not tolerate that. What about those who have the same proclivity towards animals. Should they also be allowed to practice their beastiality. Why do European countries ban polygamy but allow homosexuality bits my mind.

We term masturbation onani only as a figure of speech. They do not, strictly speaking, mean the same thing. What God forbids in the Bible is onani. Nothing is said about masturbation. If I jerk off on my own, God should not punish me. But if I indulge in coitus interruptus, and spread my seed in the air instead of letting it gush into my woman, as Onan, the son of Judah, did in Genesis 38:9, then I should incur the wrath of the Lord who can be very angry at such a waste of resources. But God will not punish me for my wet dreams because they are not willful acts of wastage... I think Catholic priests who hold on to their vows may have frequent wet dreams.
LONTO-BOY, you've pointed out some of the silly argumentation in Okoampa's piece. He could have made a far better case for his point, because there is really a point there to be made.

There are many Biblical texts and passages on the purity required for ministerial priesthood. Jesus talks about celibacy in Matthew 19:22, Paul's views on marriage, chastity, spirituality of the priest and priestly ordination in 2 Corinthian 11:2, Ephesian 5:22-32. In 1 Corinthian 7:32-34, Paul's basic concern is that to be married is to be distracted from the spiritual. However, in 1 Corinthian 7:38- Paul says he who refrains marriage will do better. These are some of the Biblical interpretations that form the basis for priestly celibacy.

I will again say that Paul is a serious "JOKE" with the greatest of respect Lonto Boy. He said that " He who refrains marriage will do better" because, according to him, the world is coming to an end soon in HIS LIFETIME. So there wouldn’t be the need for men to get married. But the world didn't come to end , did it? Same goes to the other chapters that you quoted; They are all Paul letters to the people of Corin and does not carry any scriptural weight because of the credibility of his author . This is the same Paul who said he will see the coming back of Jesus before he dies. Did he see Jesus? So how can you trust such a figure or his visions to come from God? Truth hurt and I know Catholics in particular don’t like it when we mention the name Paul. But, Paul has done us ( moslems and Christians) a great harm that today, we don’t have the true religion that Jesus (pbuh) and the Jesus movement truly propagated .
