have cognitive dissonance. How is the SC expecting people who are already on register to go through registration whether under the law, behind the law or on top of the law? Wouldn't cognitive reasoning say that would be duplication? Is there not automatic sanctions for double registration? Try as I do, I credit the SC with a modicum of reasoning capability so wouldn't think they expected those affected by the Abu Ramadan case (supra) although already registered to be registered again unless their names are removed from the register.
There you go: 'we think that any person whose registration is affected by the decision in the Abu Ramadan case (supra) be given the opportunity to go through the process of registration to establish his eligibility or otherwise in order that the appropriate remedies provided under the law may be applied.' There is no 'ifs and buts' about this, it is a given that the NHIS card registrants have been affected, if the SC deem acceptable for them to remain it would not produce a forty something or so pages verdict. It would have said simply that all this was done under the law, behind the law, on top, lawful and then some so nothing can be done. Please credit the judges with some level of reasoning even if you are inclined to credit yourself none.
The plaintiffs got three reliefs and two orders . The two important ones are that the register in its current form is neither credible nor accurate reasonably considered and most importantly the constitution places the duty on the Commission to produce one that is reasonably credible and accurate. The Commission leaves the names of NHIS registrants on register at their own peril as it would not pass the credibility and accuracy test.

Ace if u also put up an impartial mind, u would realise that ".... Processes under law" is not the same as "....processes under the law". U cant remove some words to suit your argument. That will be diabolical. I have a problem with the ruling that appeared to please both plaintiffs and defendants. The blame for this confusion shd be placed on the doorstep of the sc. What prevented the sc from stating their position and orders clearly? Am sure the international community would be laughing at the sc by now. At this point, the whole country is more confused now than we were b4 the judgement. Sc must stop this flip-flopping to preserve our democracy.

Supreme Court dismissed Abu's substantial case completely by refusing to force the EC to compile a new vters' register.Although the court said the register for voters is not reasonably accurate. They recommended that EC takes steps immediately to clean the register of voters by the provisons of the 1992 Constitution, and applicable laws of the country. The EC has assured the public that they will obey the SC order and apply the provision of processes of CI 91 to delete the names of all ineligible voters.Thank you.

" ..under the law" means under existing law. That is my layman's understanding. The SC court cannot be talking about the law which does not exist and else cannot be applied. It nee not add the word 'existing' for the meaning to be understood. Anytime a court directs an order according to law, it is talking of the law in place not one being contemplated.

Infact what I find more strange and CONFUSING is the belief by 'many' that we can get a clean register by deleting names of NHIs holders and allowing same people register if TWO persons whose names are on the register vouch for them. Come on, which is more easier! Having just 'paid' party faithfuls attesting for a so called ' illegible voter' or the process of obtaining an NHIS card. We are only jokers..., another recipe for chaos.

Twisting words out of context in the face of a ruling that was so clear will not endear him to those who mistakenly thought he could do a proper legal analysis without compromising. In fact he is diminished in my estimation.

Well, well and well, why is the ndc so bent on opposing anything sane, lawful and sensible? The whole world has witnessed that 'unholy' matrimony between the ndc and the ec since 2008 to the destruction of Ghana, why?

There is no political party worth dying for . They are just all the same drawn from the same genetic pool of dimwits, conmen, and out right braggarts each wanting to take us for a ride.
What a nation where the greatest vision of any politician is to win political power and be called honorable.

So, if at the end of election 2016, one name is found in the register, who has registered with NHIS, dont you think that it can be used to litigate the results? What about all the MPs and the president and even all the assembly members who were voted for by these same NHIS holders? This is why in the wisdom of the SC such people can not just be deleted from the register other than legitimate means.I can not even remember which card I used to register.Again, what happened if I used NHIS yo register myself and in the current limited registration I guaranteed for somebody to be registered? If my name is to be deleted, should that person I guaranteed for be deleted too?My brothers and sisters, let us not complicated issues.
