The political activities of Naa Konadu Agyeman Rawlings thus far bare unmistakable similarities with those of Nana Akufo-Addo.
For 19 years Konadu Agyeman Rawlings could not do a darn thing for anyone in Ghana while her husband reigned. Nana Akufo-Addo has spent his adult life in politics with no legacy to tout on the campaign trail but a campaign full of pie-in-sky promises. Nana Akufo-Addo cannot even tout his record of sending Tsatsu Tsikata to prison while in the AG office during Kufour's administration and why not if he is professionally proud of his accomplishments? Konadu Agyeman Rawlings sat either idly by while J.J. Rawlings drained the national coffers or partook in it; either way it was all in the family. Nana Akufo-Addo sat by while Kufour gave away state lands to NPP cronies for free or on the cheap with Nana's blessing since loyalty to the NPP was more important than loyalty to mothet Ghana.
Konadu Agyeman Rawlings would claim she was not the government under her husband J. J. Rawlings and should not be held responsible for J.J. Rawlings' deeds. She was a Ghanaian then and now and she should have guarded mother Ghana from her husband's abuses. Nana Akufo-Addo has not been and was not the the president during the Kufour administration but he, Akufo-Addo, should have guarded mother Ghana against the greed and graft of his fellow NPP stoogies who looted from her. He Nana could have hauled off some of Kufour's men to court but chose not or was blind to NPP abuses even as he politically and with malice prosecuted Tsatsu Tsikata for causing financial loss to Ghana. So just as Konadu Agyeman Rawlings should tout her accomplishments, if any, under the 19 year Rawlings rule so must Nana Akufo-Addo tout his lifetime political accomplishments if there's anything there he can run on and stop all the promises; he is yet to promise us that he spoke to God who promised to come and visit us in Ghana on the day of his fantastic inauguration.
In the final analysis, Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe, you have exposed the hypocrisy of Nana Akufo-Addo and Konadu Agyeman Rawlings; they are both typical political animals lying through their forked tongues for Ghana's presidency.
