1963-64

Asante Kotoko set record

This was Asante Kotokos record-breaking year. The Porcupine Warriors went through the first round of the competition unscathed, winning seventeen games and drawing one.

The competition was, however, abridged after the 25th fixtures to enable the Black Stars to prepare well for the Tokyo Olympics.

Kotokos all-conquering machine, was however temporarily derailed in the last two games before the abridgement by Hearts (3-2) and Army (4-2). But they had built such a massive lead that they could not be toppled.

The four bottom clubs, Eleven Wise, Susu Biribi, Dwarfs and Harbour City were not relegated because of the abridgement.
