Bechem United wins Middle League opener

A spot kick by Issah Adamu in the 65th minute enabled Bechem United to beat B.A. United 1-0 in their Zonal Middle League clash at the Robert Mensah stadium on Wednesday.

After a goalless first half, both teams resumed strongly and against the run of play, Bechem United was awarded a penalty when a hard pressed defender of BA United, fouled Abdul Raman in the vital area.

Referee Samuel Suker awarded a penalty which Adams converted for the match winner.

The remainder of the game belonged to B.A. United, but their efforts in search of the equalizer yielded no fruit. Elsewhere at Sekondi, Guan United beat Yassin 2-1.
