Mahatma wins Golden Boot

Hearts of Oak captain Mahatma Otoo wrapped up the 2012-13 Ghana Premier League season with 20 goals to be crowned the goal king.

In-form Otoo bagged a hat-trick on the final day against relegated Tema Youth side at their Accra Sports Stadium fortress on Sunday.

A visibly elated Otoo was on fire during the second round of the season and Hearts of Oak’s fifth-placed finish on the log was mainly due to his fine form.

The striker, who got a call-up to the Black Stars following his impressive display in the elite division, was the hero of the final day as the Phobians invaded the pitch to carry him shoulder high to round off the season.

He was two goals short of a 12-year record of 22 goals set by former Hearts of Oak striker Ishmael Addo in the 2000-2001 season.
