As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for a by-election in Ejisu on Tuesday, there are calls by all well-meaning party leaders and supporters to work together to achieve victory to continue the development projects started by the late Member of Parliament (MP), John Kumah.

As part of the activities to garner votes for the newly elected candidate for the party, a former chairman for Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), has charged all supporters of the party in the Ejisu constituency to work hard to retain Lawyer Kwabena Boateng.

At a unity walk at Ejisu, which started from the Fumesua taxi rank to Ejisu roundabout, he called on the supporters never to be complacent but rather come out in their numbers to vote to secure victory for their candidate.

“We have a battle ahead of us on Tuesday. And as a matter of urgency, I entreat you all to come out in your numbers to vote massively for Lawyer Boateng. We must all embark on a door-to-door campaign, if that’s what it takes to convey the good message of the NPP to every electorate in this constituency.”

He cautioned party sympathisers to be mindful regarding their choice of words which he believes can affect the fortunes of the election.

“Tuesday’s by-election should be a must-win for the party, regardless, let us be mindful of our words. After this election, we stay united and have parliamentary business to conduct.”

The former chairman added, “We must not only win, but we must do so with a convincing margin”.

On April 13, the NPP conducted the parliamentary primary in Ejisu, with Kwabena Boateng emerging victorious as the party’s parliamentary candidate ahead of the upcoming December polls.
