Electorate urged to vote for Party that can deliver

Kukurantumi (E/R), Jan. 15, GNA - Abuakwa North Constituency chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Douglas Martin Asare, on Tuesday urged the electorate to consider the contribution of each political party towards the development of the country before settling on the party to vote for in the December elections.

He said people needed to consider the achievements of the country in terms of freedom of expression, human rights, infrastructural development, sports and general economic well being of the country. Mr Asare told the GNA in an interview that flag bearers of the various political parties should avoid personal attacks and that they should focus on educating the electorate on their developmental agenda for the country when elected into office.

Mr Asare pleaded with politicians and political activists to desist from beating "war drums" in their pronouncements and avoid speeches that could generate tension in the country. "All of us have one Ghana and we need to do what it takes and put in the maximum efforts to avoid issues that could tear the nation apart", he said.

Mr Asare said no matter which party or personality emerged victorious at the end of the elections, it would be better for the winning political party to rule a peaceful and united Ghana than to lead a divided and devastated country that is at war with itself.
