Upper Manya MP Elect Grateful To Constituents

The Upper Manya constituency Member of Parliament elects Mr. Jeff Kavianu has express gratitude to the electorate in the constituency for giving him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) overwhelmingly support during the just ended 2012 general election.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the EVENING TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER at his based in Asesewa, he thanked the constituency executives, party members, chiefs and people in the area for their continues support for the NDC and the astronomical increase in votes for him and H.E President John Dramani Mahama. “I Thank God and the people of Upper Manya constituency for giving me the opportunity to serve Ghana through parliament and I am very humbled by this kind gesture” he added.

Mr. Jeff Kavianu, a contractor based in Koforidua who is going to parliament for the first time as one of the NDC new faces, promise to keep in faith with the people for the confidence they imposed on him. He called for total support and cooperation from the constituents as he persuade and agenda to improve education in the area of the elimination of schools under trees, and make sure all the new school building will be accessible to the disabled, expansion of the school feeding program to cover all deprive areas in the constituency, continuation of the Provision of free school uniform, textbooks and bags, Expansion of facilities of Senior Secondary School and also seek the increase of enrollment of the girls from the constituency. And setup Scholarship for brilliant but need student to continue their education, in the training collages, nursing schools and the university.

He said since agriculture in the major preoccupation of his constituents, “My agricultural policy would focus on attaining food security for the constituency, income security for farmers and fishermen and self-sufficient in the industrial sector and emphasis would also be on the use science and technology to revolutionize agriculture”. He added.

He said “In this constituency, the peasant farmers constituted the overwhelming majority of all agricultural producers and the agrarian transformation programmes of a NDC government shall therefore revolve around them” he promised to allocate 20 percent of his MPs common fund and work with specific financing schemes such as Export Development and Agriculture Investment Fund, Venture Capital Fund and MASLOC to lend to our farmers and stakeholders in agriculture such as market women.
