Afigya District Assembly to continue Kufuor projects

Adwumakasekese (Ash), Feb. 23, GNA - The Afigya-Kwabre District Chie= f Executive (DCE), Mr Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, has given the assurance that road projects initiated in the area by the Kufuor Administration would not be abandoned.

He said the District Assembly was doing everything possible to ensure the completion of works on Afrancho-Ntiribuoho-Bomso, Pankrono-Maase-Buoho, Fawoade-Adwumakasekese-Aboabogya and Kodie-Aduman roads. Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku gave the assurance when performing a sod-cutting ceremony to mark the start of construction work on a community centre and market at Adwumakasekese.

The two projects are being implemented through self-help. The DCE pledged the support of the assembly and called for unity and understanding among the people to enable the job to be done within schedule= .. Responding to complaints by the people about what they claimed was undue delay in the completion of the GETFund sponsored six-classroom block, Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku asked them to exercise restraint as he made efforts to get the contractors to speed up the work. The Krontihene, Nana Yeboah Mensah praised Mr John Obiri-Yeboah, a citizen of the town, for his immeasurable contribution to the development o= f the community.
