Alhaji Bature tackles Tarzan

Managing Editor of the “Al Hajj” Newspaper, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature, has fired a sharp riposte at former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby for claiming he is “unproductive”.

According to the energy expert, he sees no reason why the Accra daily should published a story captioned “Dumsor Ends Finally” when government has not publicly announced that the energy crisis facing the nation has been fixed.

Dr. Wereko Brobby popularly called “Tarzan” thus described Alhaji Bature as an unproductive citizen who feeds on propaganda, adding that he does nothing meaningful to help the nation due to the pittance he (Bature) receives from his pay masters.

But in a sharp rebuttal on Adom FM on Monday, Alhaji Bature described Tarzan’s assertions as “unfortunate”.

He also questioned Dr. Wereko Brobby’s competence when the latter was appointed CEO of the VRA.

“It’s not strange to have someone like him, (Dr. Wereko Brobby) as a leader in this country. Someone who has headed the VRA and a counsel member of the NPP (New Patriotic Party) can reduce himself this low. It’s very unfortunate….”

“…Wereko Brobby (Dr.) was unfair to us (Al Hajj Newspaper) and especially me (Bature). How can he say that people like us are unproductive...? It’s very sad!!!...He has no evidence to back his assertion that I’m an unproductive citizen,” Alhaji Bature said.
