Aram-Koliga community get toilet facilities

Aram-Koliga (U/E), Jan. 12, GNA - World Vision International (WVI) in conjunction with the Binaba Area Community Health Project (BACH), both NGOS in the Bawku West District, have so far assisted 54 households in the Aram-Koliga electoral area to construct toilet facilities. BACH has already supported 17 beneficiary households with the facility whilst WVI is providing the rest of the households with additional 125 cement blocks to enable them complete the project. Mr. Atebrah Atubilla, Assemblyman for the area said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Zebilla in the Bawku West District.

He commended the NGO's for the various supports they have given to communities in the area and called on the people to always provide communal labour whenever the need arose. Mr. Atubila praised the Directorate of Non-Formal Educational Division for organizing afternoon classes since 2007 for children who were not in school around Kobogu, Teogo, Piigu and Nagro. He said about 170 children have so far been enrolled to integrate the regular school system in the area.

He congratulated the Minister for the Interior, Mr. Cletus Avoka, for his initiatives to construct an immigration office and a staff quarters at the Aram- Koligu custom barrier. Mr. Atubila appealed to the Interior Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Zebilla, the District Chief Executive, Mr. Moro Adam Anaba and the Minister for Agriculture to construct the Zeogo dam which was destroyed many years ago to enable the people in the area to do dry-season farming. 12 Jan 10
