Barclays Bank constructs dormitory for Ofaakor Orphanage

Odupong Ofaakor (C/R), July 18, GNA - Staff of the Barclays Bank funding the construction of a 250-million-cedi two story dormitory for the Good Shepherd Orphanage at Odupong Ofaakor Bohye Asaseso, near Kasoa. in the Central Region

The project to help provide a decent accommodation for the inmates is in line with their desire to help the poor and needy as their social responsibility, Mrs Tina Ayisi, Head of Operations and Information Technology (IT) of the Bank, said.

She said the staff had adopted the Orphanage for assistance, adding that, the project, which would include a toilet, bathrooms, stores and the provision of beds, would be completed this year. Mr Chris Wharton-Hood, Operations and IT Director Africa and Middle East, commended staff of the Bank for their initiative to assist the less privileged.

Bishop Kweku Addei, Founder of the Home, thanked them for their gesture, whic h he said would go a long way to ease congestion at the Orphanage.

Bishop Addei, who is also the Leader of the Great Word of God Church, appealed for assistance to cater for the feeding, accommodation, education, clothing and medical care of the inmates to become responsible adults in future.
