Chief of Kokofu Anyinam appeals for assistance

Kokofu Anyinam (ASH), July 18, GNA - The Chief Kokofu Anyinam, Nana Wio Asamoah II, has appealed to citizens of the area to support an electrification project and to help solve the perennial water problem. He said the District Assembly and the MP for the area, Mr Kofi Aduse Poku, had expressed their willingness to help to get the town connected to the national grid but called on the people to purchase 10 transmission poles for the project.

Nana Asamoah made the appeal at a meeting with the people to plan the development and welfare of the people at Kokofu Anyinam. He noted that, if the citizens initiated the projects, it would inspire the MP and the District Assembly to honour promises they made to them Nana Asamoah noted that Kokofu Anyinam, being the birth place of King Osei Tutu, had been neglected and deprived of electricity, potable water and educational facilities to improve the living standard of the people and to promote the tourism potential of the area. He said the whole community had one bole hole and appealed to non-governmental organisations for assistance.

He expressed concern about the deplorable conditions of roads in the area and appealed to the government to help them to rehabilitate and to construct new ones to enable the farmers to send their produce to the marketing centres.

Bishop Kweku Addei, Founder and Leader of the Great Word of God Church and a native of the town commended the Chief for his efforts to ensure the development of the area. He called for unity, cooperation and understanding among the people to give Kokofu Anyinam a facelift.
