Eusbett Bags Silver At Excellence Awards Gala

Sunyani based Eusbett Hotel has added a new award to its wardrobe of awards. The hotel has been awarded silver award in the hospitality category at the just-ended 2nd Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards held in Accra. The awards ceremony, which is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, is held annually to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of players in various industries during the year.

The hotel, which was established in 1998 with 16 rooms, has fast established itself as one of the finest hotels in the country, growing organically into a 92 bedroom hospitality facility. Â

A citation accompanying the award stated: “Eusbett Hotel is delightfully located in the serene and stress-free environment of Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital and offers all the comfort of a modern first class international hotel and conference centre,” the citation stated.

According to the organisers of the event, the plush hotel with over 80 workers and a team of young and experienced professionals, has carved a niche for itself with excellent customer service.

The citation also made reference to the hotel’s social responsibility activities. The hotel has been a friend the physically challenged inmates of the Sunyani Social Welfare Centre. During the just-ended Christmas festivities, it feted the inmates of Hanukah Children’s home in Sunyani. In education, Eusbett Hotel has also built a 3-unit classroom block for the Ridge Experimental School at Sunyani and provided a land and a new school bus to the Knights of St. John Int., also at Sunyani.

The hotel, which can boast of an excellent mix of facilities for both holiday and business clients, has five conference rooms, two restaurants, sports centre/gym (which is the largest and best equipped in Ghana), tourism information desk (for the promotion of domestic tourism), travel and tour services, among others, making it one of the most preferred hospitality facility in the country.

In an interview with newsmen , the General Manager of Eusbett Hotel, Robert Mensah, said high standards in the delivery of its services had earned the hotel several awards, including: the CIMG Hospitality Facility (2006), five times Hotel of the Year award for the Brong Ahafo region and the Ghana Tourist Board Best Hotel of the (Year 2007) for the Forest Zone (Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Eastern regions).

He disclosed that the latest addition to the hotel’s range of services is a service that transports conference participants and organizers from Accra to the hotel in Sunyani for workshops and conferences at no extra charge. This service, he indicated has received high patronage from institutions in both the private and public sector. The service is a big relief for event organizers and corporate bodies who want to hold conferences and workshops outside the stressful national capital, Accra.

This innovation, Mr. Mensah added, had greatly contributed to making Sunyani the hub of conferences in the country due to its serenity and stress-free environment.

The Managing Director of the hotel, Sam Bennett, who also owes a chain of businesses in the Brong Ahafo region was recently honoured during the Brong Ahafo@50 awards ceremony for his outstanding contributions towards the development of the region.
