Family identifies body found floating in Aflao lagoon

Aflao, July 14, GNA - The body of a male adult found floating in the lagoon at Aflao last weekend has been identified as that of Dovi Akakpo, 50, from Torvey, a suburb of Aflao.

Mr Baba Moro Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in charge of crime at Aflao told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that family members of the deceased identified the body.

He said investigations revealed that the deceased left home for fishing during the week but did not return.

Mr Moro said relatives told the police that they thought he was in the other family house until the body was found.

He said the body, which was in a bad state, was released to the family for burial, after a Coroner and other relevant agencies were invited to inspect it.

Mr Moro said the police were still conducting investigations into the incident.
