Four branches of the GPRTU in Accra maintains accident free record

Accra, Dec. 2, GNA - Four branches of the Greater Accra Region branch of the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU), of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), have maintained their decade accident free record for the X'mas holidays.

The branches are the Accra CMB-Cape Coast -Mankessim-Twifo Praso, Accra CMB-Kasoa, Accra CMB Suhum, and Accra CMB _Bawjiase lorry stations. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, on Saturday, Mr Kwamina Ofori Amanfo, Vice Chairman of the Accra CMB-Cape Coast-Mankessim-Twifo Praso lorry station said the accident-free record of the union was maintained because of the insistence of the GPRTU that drivers should operate without the influence of alcohol or possess Licence "A and D" before driving.

Mr Joseph Quayson Otoo, Chairman of the Accra CMB -Kasoa branch of the GPRTU said the body was against over speeding, which was one major cause of motor accidents.
