IAPC inaugurates chapter in Sunyani

The International Academy of Professional Counsellors (IAPC) on Wednesday inaugurated the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chapter in Sunyani.

The CAPC is a faith-based association of counsellors that certificates and licenses professional counsellors. It has its headquarters in Yeoville, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Among other issues, IAPC works to equip members to become sound, healthy and knowledgeable counsellors anchored in faith based scriptural principles and provide a platform for networking among counsellors around the globe.

The Most Reverend Dr Godwin P. Davis, National IAPC President, said the association provides counselling in specific areas of social life including clinical, pastoral, marriage and legal counselling.

He asked the leadership of the Brong-Ahafo Regional chapter to keep members abreast with modern trends and relevant information on basic methods of counselling.

Mr David Brefo, a legal practitioner, entreated employers and employers to join the academy to empower them and broaden their knowledge to enable them to cope with the challenges of social live.

The IAPC Brong-Ahafo Regional chapter is being coordinated by Rev Dr Joseph W Awuni, Senior Minister at the Glad Tidings Assemblies of God Church in Sunyani and Very Rev Ellen Dua-Agyemang of the Kings Universal Chapel at Odumase, near Sunyani. Certificates were presented to the chapter members.
