MP donates television to Eikwe Hospital

Eikwe(W/R), Jan. 26, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, the Deputy Minister for Energy and Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, said the roles being played by health personnel operating in deprived areas in the country was laudable.

He said such individuals needed the requisite logistical support to make their work effective and their stay pleasant. Mr. Buah said this when he donated a 42-inch LG plasma television set to the St. Martins De-Pores Hospital at Eikwe on Monday. Mr Buah said the donation was in fulfilment of a pledge made by his wife at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the hospital about two months ago. The Medical Director of the hospital, D Gabi Koethe, thanked the Minister for the donation of the TV and said it would enable them do their work without interruption by patients trooping to the consulting room which always disturbed their work.

She also thanked the minister and the government for honouring their campaign promise by tarring the road from Krisan to Baku which has reduced dust in the area and expressed the hope that it would continue to Atuabo. The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Mr. Daniel K. Eshun, thanked the MP for his efforts in helping the development of the district and Eikwe Hospital in particular.

He said in the absence of a district hospital, the district recognized St. Martins De-pores as its district hospital and would support them to ensure that the needs of the hospital were catered for. Mr Eshun said during the golden jubilee celebration of the hospital, the hospital requested for the building of a mortuary. 26 Jan 10
