Nanumba North District on massive infrastructure development

Bimbila (N/R), Feb. 16, GNA - The Nanumba North District Assembly h= as spent GHc2.51 million within two years to develop infrastructure. The projects include improvement in the education sector, health, road rehabilitation, provision of water and other social interventions.

The education sector got GHc109, 8639.09 for the construction of infrastructure in the Bimbilla Senior High and other school blocks at Lepusi, Denni, Jilo communities and the E.P Senior High School in Bimbilla. Other projects included the construction of classroom blocks at Kassimiya Junior High School, Jilo Primary School, E.P Demonstration Primar= y School, Demonayili Primary School, Makayili Primary School and the Sabonjid= a Primary School as well as Gmantambu and Pusuga/Demonayili Junior High schools. Alhaji Mohammed Ibn Abass, Nanumba North DCE, told the GNA on Wednesda= y that the government was aware of the numerous challenges facing the distric= t and has therefore decided to work hard to alleviate the plight of the people. He said the Ghana Education Trust Fund, the Northern Region Poverty Reduction Programme (NORPREP) and the country's development partners assisted the district, while the Assembly also used its share of the Common Fund to complete the projects.

Alhaji Abass said the government of the NDC came to power with a pledg= e to invest in people and that any activity that would help to improve the lives of the people would be executed. He said so far six major road networks linking farming communities had been upgraded and bridges had been built as well as market stalls.
