Unique Royal Club donates cement to Police

The Unique Royal Club has donated 200 bags of cement to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, in support of the construction of a Conference Hall for the police administration in Kumasi.

Mr. George Kumi, Chairman of the Club, expressed the hope that the donation will not only go a long to support the service, but also inspire other social clubs to replicate the gesture towards building a formidable and enviable Police Service in the region.

He explained, at a presentation ceremony at the Regional Police Headquarters, that the club was to rally support for charity, seek the welfare of institutions, and champion the cause of the underprivileged in society. According to him, the donation by Unique Royal Club was inspired by the sterling leadership qualities and demonstrable accomplishments of the numerous projects being undertaken by the Commander to ensure effective security in the region.

Mr. Kumi said the presentation was their sincere way of recognising the leadership exploits of the Regional Command to encourage the Police Service in the region to sustain the current wonderful commitment and leadership. He noted that a club that champions the cause of the underprivileged in society sees the police as a common ally in giving protection to the underprivileged, hence the need to strengthen partnership with Regional Command to sustain commitment towards the security of the region.

Chairman Kumi called on other social groups in the region, as well as public-spirited individuals, to support the police, since security is the collective responsibility of all. DCOP Kofi Boakye, who received the cement on behalf of the Regional Command, also expressed his profound gratitude for the kind gesture, and gave the assurance that the items will be used for the intended purpose, in helping to maintain peace and stability in the region.

He said the Command was liaising with individuals and corporate organisations to help build the Conference Hall which would be used as an operations center. The Police Commander appealed to other corporate bodies and individuals to also help, and said his outfit will acknowledge all individuals and companies who contribute to the conference hall project by embossing their names on a plaque. He commended GOIL, Consar, Unity Oil Group of Companies, Glico Group of Companies, among others for supporting the project.
