Volta Forest Products donates to hospital

The Volta Forest Products (VFP), a Hohoe-based plywood company has discharged its corporate social responsibility in the form of blood donation and presentation of assorted food items to the Children’s ward of the Municipal Hospital.

Mr Tom Duglu-Amewu, Administrative Manger of VFP said the gesture was aimed at supporting the medical community, which is within the catchment area of the company’s operations as part of the celebration of Ghana’s 56th independence anniversary.

He said VFP was poised to undertake quarterly blood donation exercises to shore up the commodity in readiness for emergencies.

Mr John Roland Menka, Senior Blood Donor Organiser of the Hospital praised VFP for their thoughtfulness, saying their action had added about 50 pints of blood to the Hospital’s blood-bank.

He appealed to members of the public with type negative blood groups, which are scarce to donate, saying: “It is a must every individual knows his or her blood group.”

Mrs Rita Botsoe, Nursing Officer in-charge of the ward thanked VFP on behalf of Management for their continuous benevolence to the establishment.
