Bawumia hides NPP warlord

The convener of the pressure group, Research and Advocacy Platform (RAP) has started receiving life threatening text messages and phone calls following his explosive revelation that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is recruiting mercenaries from Liberia, Togo, Nigeria and Benin to disrupt the December general elections.

In a telephone conversation yesterday, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who leads RAP, told The Herald that he was unmoved by the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Anthony Karbo, and would continue working in the interest of Ghana, by preventing the NPP evil agenda from materializing.

The newly-married Mr. Karbo, who is currently hiding in the entourage of the NPP running mate, Dr. Mahammadu Bawumia, and strategically stationed in the three northern regions.

The NPP guru was captured on a secret tape saying he was recruiting some mercenaries he called “bad boys” from the four countries to attack Ghana's security agencies particularly the military and police beginning this November, to disrupt the elections.

The NPP's Communications Director, Nana Akomea said his party was launching investigations into the tape recordings as Mr. Karbo had denied any recollection of the said meeting where he made the comments.

However, Prof. Attuafuah noted that, even though the NPP had cleared its intention to investigate the matter, it (the NPP) was not a disciplinary authority therefore; the security agency concerned must take the matter up in the interest of the nation.

Meanwhile, Karbo in a statement issued on Tuesday flatly denied the voice on the alleged secrete recorded audio tape which has widely been circulated as his voice.

“I would like to take this opportunity to expressly state that although the voice on the tape sounds like mine; it is not me. This is a complete fabrication and concoction.

I have not had any meeting with a person or group of persons where the agenda of that meeting is to destabilize this country. I challenge the group to confirm where this meeting was held, who were the people in the meeting and what the agenda was,” the statement insisted.
