A vote for NDC is a vote for retrogression - Dr. Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on students of the University of Ghana to vote against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on December 7.

According to him, a vote for the NDC was a vote for increased graduate unemployment.

Addressing NPP supporters at Mensah Sabah Hall in the University of Ghana, Legon, Dr. Bawumia said, “On December 7th we have a date with destiny. December 7th is a choice about our future. December 7th is a choice about whether we are willing as a country to prioritize education and give our resources to where our priorities are needed and deliver free secondary high school education... or we want to use our resources to pay dubious judgement debts to Woyome and his cohorts.”

He added that the next NPP government under Nana Akufo Addo was going to fix what he described as the nation’s “ailing economy.”

“This is the choice that we face; between the modern industrialized economy that Nana Akufo Addo wants us to build and an economy that is characterized by retrogression, high unemployment, high interest rates, exchange rate depreciation, this is not the economy we want to build.”

With emphasis on the free SHS, Dr. Bawumia stressed, “If they prioritize Woyome we will prioritize education and we will make sure Ghana moves forward, so you have to come and help us; we need your help, we need your support, we are going to build a new economy and we cannot do it without your vote on December 7th. So vote for Nana Akuffo Addo and vote for Emmanuel Agyarko as your next Member of Parliament. Don’t make a mistake on December 7 because it is about our future. Let’s move forward together.”
