Disclose Full Details Of Ivory Coast, Ghana situation - Nana Addo

Nana Akufo-Addo, the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is challenging President John Dramani Mahama to fully disclose the current situation between Ghana and Ivory Coast.

This follows the President’s pronouncements that government was in constant touch with the Ivorian authorities over the alleged plan to destabilize the country at the IEA’s Presidential debate on Wednesday.

Speaking to Citi Fm in Accra, Nana Akufo-Addo cautioned the President to handle the situation carefully.

“I referred yesterday to reports published by the United Nations Security Council and a fact finding mission that the Security Council had initiated about the position of Ivorian residents in Ghana. They came here, they investigated and they published a formal report which is in the public domain; it’s no secret….” Nana Akufo-Addo said.

“They identified the people who were in the meeting, the venue of the meeting, the subject matter of the meeting which was the destabilization of Cote D’Ivoire. My point was very simple; if the United Nations panel of experts or investigators could find these facts, what were we in Ghana doing about it? Are we condoning this or what, because I heard the National Security Coordinator saying he was going to look into it but we have not heard any further statement from him,” he added.

He advised President John Dramani Mahama to disclose the full details of the situation to Ghanaians because the “matter is already part of the public records of this country.”

Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo has resumed his campaign and is currently in the Eastern Region.
