Sociologically, miscreants can be found in every religion, race, educational, social and economic statuses in a typical society. Terrorists using religion as a cover for criminal activities is nothing new in history. One powerful church which has state and religious power
killed millions of people with impunity during the middle ages because the church considered the killing of heretics as a right.
You and I may not be able to stop these religious terrorists, but we can pray for the leaders of the country so they can know how to deal with insurgents. We can also be alert enough to report any sign of criminal activity to the local police. But, please, stop the prejudice that every Muslim is a terrorist!

The point is not that every Muslim is a terrorist. The point is that Islam bleeds terrorism. There are some Muslims that keep their humanity while still Muslims. These don't buy the inhumanity of killing a fellow man because that man disparaged Muhammad or drew a cartoon of him. When some Muslims kill for such reasons they're doing so in faithfulness to scriptures in the Koran that prescribe killing the infidel. You can't deny there are scriptures like that. So the point is: the more faithful a Muslim is the more ready he's to kill. To such Muslims, doing so is a religious mandate: it's faithfulness that is supposed to be rewarded by Allah. It's prescribed in the Koran; you know that unless you haven't read your own Koran. It says clearly to kill the infidel. There should be no argument about this. The truth is bitter any way, for all Muslims.
Conversely, Christians don't find a need physically to defend Christ. Never. Because they know the power of the Living Christ to "defend" Himself. Witness how He called Saul and turned him into Paul in the spur of a moment. Paul's call was dramatic and that is how in similar ways He has called all Christians. There was never a military conquest in the New Testament. It was rather a spiritual conquest all the way. Christ, therefore set the framework for Christians to follow. There are Christians who go astray from the New Testament. Such Christians don't have a single proof in the New Testament ever to support their misdeeds or disobedience unlike the Koran and the Muslims. For that reason, it's very difficult for a person using a sword to chop off a human head to think he's ever doing Christ's bidding. Yet a Muslim will be doing so and shouting Allaahu Akbar. Does any Muslim think all the 19 or twenty Muslims committing 9/11 were merely crazy? I can't imagine how anybody can put together twenty Christians to go and commit this kind of atrocity and at least not one of them would denounce the plan and expose it in the wonderful Name of his Christ. That is extremely unimaginable! Almost impossible even with atheists; you can't assemble twenty of them easily to do that. Their natural human conscience will cause the abortion of such a plan.
That is what we mean by Islam is violent.
And by the way Muslims are not 2.2 billion: Why are you being, just as Muslims go, so full of superlatives - when will they learn to go by the humble truth; too misologistic! To wit: Muhammad is the greatest of the prophets; the Koran claims to know better about the birth of Christ than the Bible tells it. It's just like a man telling a woman that her baby was born through her mouth and not through her "womb" and the man claiming that an angle is his authority. Oh, the religion of the mysterious angel who didn't allow mankind to tell their own "history"; who came with words and not miraculous signs for his "agent" to display to validate his divine mission.
