Ashgold to hijack Pele’s Galatasaray move

Ashantigold are desperately seeking to halt the purported move to Galatasaray in Turkey by striker Edwin Osei ‘Pele’ so much they have set a deadline of this Friday, December 21 to finally put forward a lucrative deal for the goal poacher.

Ashgold are desperate for reinforcements for the second round following an indifferent start to the campaign they had bargained would end in their being crowned champions of Ghana again.

The 3-time Premier League titlists have ended the past three seasons in the runner-up spot and have sworn to end their bridesmaid role this season but after taking just 4 wins from 11 games culminating in a drastic reshuffle of the technical bench amid the sack of helmsman, Yaw Acheampong this week, Ashgold chiefs have identified the need to strengthen the squad especially in attack.

Free agent Osei Pele has been on the radar of the Obuasi club since he parted ways with Hearts of Oak at the end of last season. With the season on the line however, Kudjoe Fianoo has apparently received the backing of the club’s rich owners to lure Pele to Obuasi.

The 20 year old goal machine only this week received invitation from Turkey league leaders, Galatasaray who have identified him as their striker for the future and have expressed the desire to assess him on an initial 6-month renewable contract.

But Osei Pele has not hidden his desire to play competitive football regularly in a bid to make up for lost time and it is this situation that informs the apparent confidence of Fianoo that he can convince the Hearts of Oak reject to choose Obuasi over Turkey.
