Clottey returns to Esperance

....despite contract cancellation reports

Ghana striker Emmanuel Clottey has rejoined his Tunisian club Esperance despite intense speculation surrounding his future.

There were reports his contract with the former African champions had been terminated over payment delays of his transfer fee.

Clottey arrived in Tunis last Tuesday and played in their 2-1 friendly win against Nigeria’s U20 on Saturday.

He was brought down inside the box by defender Kingsley Madu and the spot-kick was converted by Khalid Chammam.

Clottey was signed for a record fee of US$ 1.5 million after scoring 12 goals in the 2012 CAF Champions League.

He played at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
