Duncan targets Quayson to replace Mahatma Otoo

Footy-Ghana.com can confirm that Hearts of Oak head coach David Duncan has targeted former Ashanti Gold striker Frederick Quayson to replace club captain Mahatma Otoo, who is on the verge of landing a lucrative contract in the United Arab Emirates.

According to our well-placed sources, Duncan wants to use a similar system that served him well at Ashanti Gold, which involves using a burly striker in attack and he sees Quayson, who served him so well in Obuasi, as the man for the job.

Quayson left Ashanti Gold after being suspended by the club and has just signed to play for first division outfit Eleven Wise, but Duncan wants to buy out his contract and sign him.

Duncan has also earmarked Ashanti Gold defender Michael Boakye as a direct replacement for the departing Seth Owusu, whilst former Black Stars defender Emmanuel Osei could return for a second stint with the club.

Former Aduana Stars striker Joseph Mugre and former Eleven Wise forward James Bissue are also on Duncan’s hitlist, whilst Obed Ansah, whose 12 goals helped Hearts of Oak to its last title triumph in 2009, could return to the club.
