Ghana Champions Asante Kotoko will face Sony Ela Nguema, the champions of Equatorial Guinea in the preliminary round of the 2013 CAF Champions League, footy-Ghana.com can exclusively confirm.

The porcupine warriors will first play host to Sony Nguema at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on the weekend of 15, 16, 17 February 2013 before flying to Equatorial Guinea for the second leg on th weekend of 1, 2, 3 March, 2013.

The Equatorial Guineans have 13 league titles to their credit and participated in the CAF Champions league on five different occasions.

The winner of this tie will meet the winner of the JSM Bejala (Algeria) vs. Olympique FC de Niamey (Niger) duel in the 1/16th round which will be cleared between March and April 2013.
