RtD Professionals- Weekly round-up

It has been a busy weekend for Right to Dream's graduates in Europe, starting the new season with some scintillating performances in the Scandinavian region this past weekend- particularly in Norway and Sweden.

While some made debut appearances for their new clubs, others continued with their run of spectacular performances for their club sides, including David Accam. The pacey winger is fast staking a big claim for a place in the Ghana team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, after putting his side through to the semi-finals of the Swedish Cup last week.

H*elsingborg v Djurgarden - game suspended*

David Accam scored his fifth goal in only four matches. Accam picked up a pass from the flank before volleying in to level the scores four minutes after the away team had scored the opener.

However, the game Helsingborgs IF and Djurgarden was then suspended in the 42nd minute after Djurgarden fans invaded the pitch following the announcement of the unfortunate and tragic death of a fan, which occurred before the game.

*Strømsgodset 4 - 2 Start *

Mohammed Abu made an emotional return to Norwegian football, playing the entire game, as reigning champions Stromsgodset defeated IK Start 4:2 in a thrilling open day league encounter.

Abu was signed outright by Stromsgodset from Manchester City before the season started and is looking forward to playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The Black Stars' midfielder has fond memories of Stromsgodset. A series of strong performances in his first spell at the Norwegian side, brought him to the attention of the national team in 2012, leading to his first cap for the Black Stars under Serbian, Goran Stevanovic.

*Halmstad* * 1 - 2 **Örebro*

Two Right to Dream graduates, King Osei Gyan and Samuel Mensah, came face to face in one of many RtD graduate vs RtD graduate encounters to be expected this season, when Halmstad entertained newly promoted Örebroat home.

RtD's King Osei Gyan enjoyed a memorable debut appearance, playing the entire game but he could do very little as Samuel Mensah made a late appearance to help Örebrohold onto their slender 2:1 away victory.

*Malmö FF** 3 - 0 **Falkenberg*

Striker, Godsway Donyoh, made a bright start to his career at Swedish top flight club, Falkenberg, but he could do very little to turn the tide as his side slumped to a 3:0 away defeat to Malmo FF.

Donyoh, who is on loan from Manchester City, was given his first start by his manager, former Sweden and Barcelona legend, Henrik Larsson, following his impressive pre-season where he netted on three occasions.

The 19 year-old was chosen ahead of more experienced players, underlying Larsson's confidence in the young striker's ability.

*Ghana Premier League: *Ashgold 2:0 Aduana Stars

Godfred Saka was on the losing side as Aduana Stars lost 2:0 to Obuasi Ashgold in the Ghana Premier League. Aduana are in a battle to avoid relegation.
